About This Listing
We would love to host you in our lovely and affordable space.
Our place is a two bedroom urban oasis with a large living room, kitchen, and bathroom area just minutes from the subway. You will be sharing the space with two friendly and fun performers. We boast a calm, quiet, and peaceful place with great energy. We like to keep our apartment clean, clutter free, and provide a space where you can unwind from the bustle of the city. Your room would be the living room area with a super comfortable over-sized sofa and ottoman. The room has a large flat screen television, WiFi, and is extremely cozy. There is also a curtain that you may choose to use for additional privacy. The apartment is warm and has minimal street noise for a quiet and comfortable night's sleep.
The apartment is located just 5 blocks from the F, Q, and R trains in Park Slope and is an easy 15 minute subway ride into Manhattan. The apartment is situated in the industrial part of Park Slope, however, is in a very safe location. We are five minute walk from a great selection of locally owned bars, unique and fabulous restaurants, and eclectic shopping. There are some great yoga studios within walking distance, a YMCA, and multiple gyms close by. Additionally, we are a ten-minute walk to Prospect Park.
Building and Parking:
The building is a ten unit brick apartment complex that is bug-free. We live on the fourth floor of a walk-up, so please note that there is no elevator and there are stairs. Although we do not recommend having a car in the city, street parking is not hard to find near the apartment. If you do choose to park on the street please pay attention to street cleaning closures.
We provide: sheets, pillows, blankets, towels and toiletries such as: shampoo, conditioner, soap, razors. We have a fully stocked kitchen and some space in the fridge reserved for your perishable items.
We use all natural cleaning products for those that might have allergies or be sensitive to harsh chemicals or smells.
Check Out/Check In:
Check out is at 12:00 pm (This is a suggested time to accommodate our guests. If you should require additional time we can stow your packed luggage.)
Check in is at 2:00 pm. (Again, this is a suggested to to accommodate incoming guests. Your check in can be earlier provided that there is no guest prior to your arrival.)
Our preference is to host people who have a history and reviews on Air B and B, however, if you are a first-timer we request that you have an updated biography and photo(s) and provide us with a short description of your trip to New York City.
We ask that you respect the space and our neighbors by maintaining quiet hours before 8:00 am and after 11:00 pm.
This is a no smoking building and apartment.
We just ask that you please help to keep our space tidy and beautiful.
We welcome you to New York, our home, and want to make sure that your stay here is fabulous!
Guests will have access to all communal spaces: Living Room, Kitchen, Bathroom. Additionally, guests have access to WiFi, storage space, Flat Screen TV, refrigerator, bathroom toiletries and occasionally Raymond cooks....so delicious food might be on hand!
Interaction with Guests
We love to get to know our guests and have made many wonderful friends through Air B and B, however, we want to respect your space and time and are sensitive to someone who might prefer to keep to themselves. With that said we have enjoyed many a meal in the neighborhood, Thanksgiving Day celebrations, wine/beer/tea at our Magic Kitchen Table, and great conversations with all of our wonderful guests.
Our neighborhood is full of independently owned fantastic restaurants and bars located on 5th and 7th Avenue. We are also about a 10 minute walk from the beautiful Prospect Park.
We are conveniently located near the F, G, and R lines.
Other Things to Note
As a courtesy, we ask guests to arrive at our apartment prior to 10:00 pm as both of us have daytime jobs.
Although we are really chill and flexible, we ask guests to respect the space and our neighbors by maintaining quiet hours before 8:00 am and after 11:00 pm and to please help keep our space tidy and beautiful. We prefer to also have a shoes off policy. We love to have guests and want your stay to be comfortable and for you to feel welcome!
My stay with Raymond & Heather was amazing. They are the friendliest, warmest, and most fun people to be with. The experience was as if I lived in NY and had friends there, which is really the best way to get to know a city and have a great time. I would recommend it to everyone! In the four days I stayed with them I befriended them, and I would definitely stay with them again when I visit NY (and I sure hope to soon!).
Some practical issues I want to mention too, because I know they matter when picking an airbnb place to stay: as a solo female traveler I felt safe in the neighborhood. Great location: subway station only 5 min walk with trains running frequently and straight into Manhattan (F train) and also uptown Brooklyn (G train; takes you into Williamburg, which I recommend visiting!). The sofa bed is comfortable, and you really have the living room to yourself and with the curtain it is private enough. I had no troubles at all, but maybe bring a sleeping mask and earplugs if you have difficulty sleeping: you are in a big city which logically results in some noise. Everything you need is in the apartment; good wifi, nice shower, kitchen, and of course great company (by the way, they're not always at home due to work, so you do have the place to yourself every now and then). Contacting Raymond and Heather before I came and at the time of my arrival all went smoothly.
I am very happy I picked their place to stay!
Raymond and Heather are great. The place is more than I expected. The couch is very comfortable. There is a ceiling fan to keep things cool. Everything was great. They are close to the subway station. I would stay again.
Raymond and Heather are so amazing hosts I have not enough words to tell how good was the time I spent with them. They took good care of me and were always concerned if I was fine and if it was anything missing - and it wasn't, everything was just amazing. :)
I said I use to feel cold because I'm from a very hot city, and they provide a lot of blankets to make me comfortable. The courtain provides privacy for the room and there is enough space for the luggage. The bathroom is great and everything smells good like a grandmas house.
The apartment is good, clean and warm and just four blocks far from the subway - just 5 minutes walking. The neighbourhood is amazing. I liked the area around 7th avenue, full of nice stores and cute restaurants, no more than 10 minutes from their place.
I spent six days with them. Heather was there since the first day. She is so sweet that I felt her like a big sister - always carefull, making all the best to make me feel good and interested in talking and exchanging ideas about life. Raymond arrived in the third they, and filled the house with joy and laughs. It was an amazing time and I really hope to meet this wonderfull guys again. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
This was my second time staying with Raymond and Heather, and I will continue to stay with them every time I come to NYC. They are the best. The Best. THE BEST. The place is great, and I couldn't recommend them enough. Stay here if you want to have the best AirBnB experience possible, because that's what I have every time I visit. Love you guys!
It was a pleasure to stay in R. and H. apartment! First of all they are lovely people, so positive, helpful, and open. Their place is well located, very close to 2 tube stations, with few different lines, so easy access to Manhattan and Wiliamsburg too. The room is nice and clean, like the whole flat.
The flat :
Perfectly clean, the bed is quiet confortable, you've enough space for all your stuffs, you've a TV, Anyway ! Everything you need in a bedroom to feel good.
The rest and bathroom was clean everyday that I stayed there.
In the kitchen, I never saw more than 3 plates on the kitchen sink.
Raymond and Heather are such amazing persons, they made me a warm welcome, made me really confortable. Even if they don't have to, but they invite me several times on some really cool places like theater, bars... I consider them as friends right now. Thank you again guys ! See you later when I come back ;)
Take care, bisous
