About this listing
Welcome to my home :)
I am currently renting out my beautiful, eclectic top floor flat for short term holiday lets..... It is situated in a highly desirable period block, overlooking Weavers Field park, with stunning views of the City - I guarantee that you'll feel at home here straight away and feel like a real Londoner, not like a tourist!
The photos of the property are all recently taken (although not recently enough to show off the new wood floors!) so you can get an idea of the place - lovely snug living room and comfortable bedroom.....there is free wifi, fresh linen, plenty of hot water, washing machine, and a fully functioning kitchen which you are welcome to use :)
The apartment is very much my home and as such you'll get a warm welcome and enjoy all the comforts and mod cons that you would in your own place. I'm a true Londoner and am happy to share my love of the city with you by recommending many the cool places to visit as all the great places to hunt out in the new cultural and fashion heart of town - the East End!
Like many London apartments in the centre my home is bijou, consisting of one double bedroom (with period furniture and a ridiculously comfortable bed!), living room, bathroom (shower and bath) and ample kitchen, modern furnishings with wooden floors throughout.
There is also a double sofa bed available in living room so the flat can accomodate 2 adults comfortably or up to 4 (but snuggly!).
Shops, ATM, restaurants, pubs all within a 5 minute walk - and so you can enjoy exploring as much as I do, I'll leave you maps and a list of recommended local sites, eateries and drinking dens in the flat :)
Fully furnished including towels
Oven and hob
Shower and Bath
Access to off street car parking on request
5th floor flat, no lift in building but the views are absolutely spectacular!
I try to welcome all my guests in person, but if this isn't possible, I have a keysafe which allows more flexibility for guests as they can let themselves in straightaway when they arrive and make themselves at home :)
Interaction with Guests
This apartment is my home, rather than a serviced apartment so it has a relaxed look and feel. Do let me know if you have any questions about the apartment, or about London in general - happy to help out in any way I can!
The apartment is located in the heart of Londons artisan and fashion hub and as such is home to a great mix of boutique shops and galleries, waiting to be discovered and trendy Shoreditch with its bars and vibrant clubs a 15 minute walk....
I love to wander through the local markets and historic Spitalfields market, Columbia Road flower market, Broadway market (a 'mini Borough market') and Petticoat Lane markets are all within 15 mins walk, as well as Spitalfields and Hackney City Farm for the children.
In your spare time enjoy historic East London, haunt of villains like Jack the Ripper and the Krays brothers, as well as the Tower of London and Brick Lane, (10 mins walk). A short tube ride takes you to sights and shopping in Central London, whilst discovering the hidden wonders of Hackney Wick is easy by bus or Boris bike!
My apartment is peacefully located just two minutes walk from Bethnal Green tube on the Central line, 1 min walk from Bethnal Green Mainline train station and 8 mins from to Whitechapel tube station (Overland, Hammersmith and City Line and District Lines) and easy access on tube and bus to Central London and only one stop from the huge Westfield shopping centre at Stratford. Main shops, shops, ATM, restaurants, pubs all within a 2 minute walk.
Check in time is usually flexible, so please ask if you need a different time and I'll do my best to help!
Also extremely close to the City and therefore would suit business travellers.
I'm a huge plant lover so please look after my plants! All they need is a drop of water if they start to wilt - many thanks
The apartment is in a block so please be considerate to the neighbours and keep noise to a minimum when coming and going and after 22:00 - many thanks!
Please the apartment as you would like to find it :)
Please recycle where possible :)
Nikki place was a good find. The photos accurately describe the apartment.
The kitchen is well equipped and Nikki has power adapters for US chargers (big plus).
Its about a 5 min walk to the Bethnal Green tube station, and about a 15 min walk to Brick Lane for some good food. Supermarket, stores, and ATMs all about 5 min away.
The home is a bit tight for a family of 4, but good enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. The home is on the 4th floor with no lift, so you have to carry your bags all the way up.
Nikki is a very good communicator and did everything to make the stay comfortable. We would certainly recommend this place.
Nikki's apartment is a cosy place which I definitely recommend.
She is very kind and attentious.
Very convenient location, in a quiet street but only one underground station from the center.
Shoreditch is really a nice neighbourhood with trendy shops and restaurants.
Even if we did not meet Nikki, she always answered within 1O min to our questions...
We felt immediately like at home.
Nice views to the City also ...
Nikki's flat was a perfect little East London stay. It is perfectly situated for easily getting to Shoreditch, Hackney and other east London spots. Her flat is comfortable and very easy to get in to. There are about 6 flights of stairs and no lift though, so be wary if you have lots of luggage! Nikki made it very easy to check in and out and had lots of great recommendations. Definitely stay here if you are thinking of staying in East London!
Unfortunately, our experience was not a positive one in spite of the fact that I must say both Nikki and Airbnb were very helpful in refunding our money for the cancelled nights. In particular, the staff at Airbnb was very diligent in the middle of a most uncomfortable and pressing situation. There are a few things that need to be fixed in the apartment although I will not get into that here, for I have communicated these to both parties and I am sure Nikki will take care of them. But the most important of them, worth sharing here, is that this should NOT be listed as an accommodation for 4pp. It only sleeps 2 as it is-the sofa bed listed as the second sleeping accommodation is NOT acceptable, and thus the number one reason we had to cancel and find another accommodation. In addition, even in the event this sofa bed is replaced, the apartment is very small and full of Nikki's personal belongings thus not allowing enough space for 4 adults-no space for 4 suitcases!
Laura and her family spent one night in my home in central London but unfortunately it was one of only a few disappointing experiences as a host.
Having read my listing, Laura would have been aware that in keeping with central London, my apartment is bijou. We had emailed prior to booking, as Laura wanted more information about my sofa bed. I had advised that it is a standard UK double, that I sleep on it myself with my boyfriend when my parents are staying, but that I could also offer an additional air mattress should it be desired once she arrived and Laura being happy with this proceeded to make a booking.
It was therefore disappointing that having arrived and initially saying everything was lovely, Laura then telephoned at 1:30 in the morning to complain that it was too small and that it was broken. Horrified, I responded as soon as possible, arriving to find that the sofa bed was in good working order and not broken - I can only presume that she had not read the instructions on how to open it as prompted. Unfortunately Laura had already decided to leave and go to a hotel that was more suited to her.
I feel great upset by this experience as I would towards any of my guests not being 100% satisfied with their stay (do see all my other really positive reviews!), but particularly as Laura was fully informed prior to booking, but she gave me no opportunity to be able to assist her, leaving me feelings powerless to please.
Laura was fully refunded for the rest of her stay.
I truly hope she and her family managed to enjoy the rest of their time in London x
Everything was great and Nikki was easy to reach and very pleasant to deal with.
