About this listing
Our large 2nd floor apartment is located in the heart of Nolita on the corner of two of best streets in the neighborhood - Elizabeth St and Spring St. Lots of windows and amazing light. We love our apartment and it turns out, others do too (HBO recently filmed a pilot in it).
We're very close to the 6 Subway station on Spring St and a short walk to Broadway Lafayette and the N/R on Prince. Cabs also seem to flock to this area, so getting around the city is easy.
Rates are all-inclusive and included are all the following amenities:
Great kitchen with 6 seater dining table (rare in NYC!)
Air conditioning (in summer)
Fresh Towels and bed linens
Close to subway
Close to Whole Foods supermarket
There is a very friendly laundromat directly over the road. We don't have a television, but if you come to Notila to watch TV, you're missing the point :)
Please note - strictly no smoking in the apt.
Key pickup is on arrival. Check in after 11am before 10pm and check out before midday unless otherwise agreed.
Please note that there is a security deposit of $300 to protect against any damages or breakages.
Place must be left in the same condition it was found and in addition is professionally cleaned before your stay. We ask that you leave $80 at the end of your stay to cover the cost of the cleaners.
This is an upmarket, well furnished apartment that's ideal for a couple or someone traveling alone, and unfortunately is not suitable for kids, pets or more than two people. Strictly no smoking. The sort of person this apartment and neighborhood would appeal to should respect the fact that they're staying in the home of a frequent traveler, and not in a cheaply furnished "rental apartment". Check-ins can only be accommodated prior to 10pm at night.
Great location, easy access to subway lines, fast wifi and quite a lot of space. Mark was a great host, he replied really quickly to all messages. I would definitely stay again.
Mark and the place were both great. Mark was exceptionally communicative and responsive. Even though we couldn't meet in person it was clear that he wanted me to have the absolute best possible stay. I really enjoyed staying in the place and it was great to cook in. The only drawback was noise from outside. It's on the 2nd floor so the street noise is definitely present, but hey, it's New York, so that's just the character of the city coming through to some degree. I would definitely recommend Mark's place to my friends.
Ideal location and a well appointed apartment with great wall art! Comfortable and clean plus you can walk to Soho, the Bowery, Little Italy, Chinatown, etc. There are several restaurants/bars on the block so it's a bit loud on a Saturday night but the flip side is that it's incredibly convenient to pick up a last minute meal. During the week there are just the usual NYC street sounds. Oh and there is a nice little wine shop downstairs. Mark was very accommodating and a perfect host.
Mark was great to deal with and made getting the keys super simple. His place is great. Very comfortable and stylish and a great size for the neighborhood/price. Couldn't ask for a more pleasant experience or stay. Will definitely look to rent it again.
Lovely flat and perfectly located apartment for easy access to subway system. Wide variety of bars and eaterys, most notably the bagel shop Black Seed opposite and The Egg Shop which delivered on its word every time. Mark was easy to deal with, flexible and quick to respond to our queries.
Mark was incredibly prompt in all correspondence, he even helped us locate nearby gyms to his place. He is a very obliging host.
When I checked in, the neighbours (who have since left!) were having a party and I contacted Mark who was away - he did everything in his power to resolve the issue, I could tell he was genuinely concerned about my time in his apartment - a vibe that you definitely don't get from all airbnb hosts.
The apartment is very large for New York standards, and during the day it is bright and breezy! In the evenings it is cosy and intimate with softer lighting. The bed is super comfy too which is a big plus. Shower has good pressure with lots of hot water. Going up to the second floor was a little tricky with my large suitcase as the stairs were a little narrow but I managed.
I am a light sleeper and I found the noise levels during the weekdays to be bearable. It can get pretty noisy on weekends (but maybe it was because of May Day), so you may want to consider earplugs.
You cannot beat the location of Mark's place! Wine shop downstairs, great restaurants all within walking distance and metro just down the street - New York is your oyster! It is so close to many great bars and my friend who lives in NY actually said that he was jealous of where I was staying because it was such a great spot! Further proof how great this area is - Steve Buscemi was filming a scene for a movie just down the street on our last day there. Must try: Nyonya, a Malaysian restaurant about 8 minutes away, Bread just around the corner and the bagel shop directly across the street for the BEST smoked salmon bagel for breakfast (we had that EVERY DAY - yum!)
Mark has been the nicest, most considerate host we've stayed with. I believe he genuinely wishes for his guests to enjoy his apartment and New York; it is no wonder he has so many great reviews both as a host and guest.
We had a wonderful holiday in New York, and a large part of it was due to Mark's great efforts as a host. Thank you!
