Guest House in the historic horse district - one bedroom, bathroom, and sitting room upstairs with a kitchen, bathroom and laundry downstairs. The space was recently renovated, so all of the finishes and fittings are fresh.
We are lucky that our home has location-location-location! Within a one-mile radius we have downtown, Hitchcock Woods, Hopeland Gardens, Palmetto Golf Club, and the Horse District with Polo fields, Aiken Training Track and the Aiken Horse Park. The downtown area is vibrant and includes an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants and night spots. We are about 15 miles from SRS and Bridgestone.
Aiken is a special town. We enjoy a long fall and spring (maybe 2-3 weeks of winter). I have flowers blooming in my yard every month of the year. The horse industry makes this community unique- we walked down to the training track this morning and watched Palice Malice (2013 winner of the Belmont) out for his exercise. The community wraps around a 2000 acre protected greenspace that is a great place for long walks, bird watching or trail rides.
Please come to visit- you will be glad you did.
I had such a pleasant experience at Krista's guest house. I was comfortable and starting with the fresh fruit and banana bread all the way to the cozy, bright sitting room. Krista was patient with my many questions and requests and helped me to feel right at home. I'll be back and forth to Aiken quite a bit so will certainly look into staying here again soon.
My husband and I recently moved to the Augusta area and found a home to buy, but we couldn't move in until after closing, which was about a month's wait. Rather than stay in a hotel for an entire month with our toddler and two dogs, we searched for a more comfortable living situation. We were so thrilled when we found Krista's guest house and she was gracious enough to take us in for such a long stay. I cannot begin to put into words how wonderful Krista and her husband were during our time in Aiken. They were both incredibly thoughtful and hospitable to our family. When we first arrived, we found bath toys set out for our little boy as well as a Thomas the Train pillow and movies to watch! It was such a sweet touch. Krista also had many sightseeing and restaurant recommendations for us during our stay. Just around the corner from their place was a great park that our son grew to love. Downtown Aiken is also very close and we took many strolls to New Moon Cafe as well as Mellow Mushroom and The Pizza Joint! The guest house itself was extremely cozy and private and we felt comfortable to come and go as we pleased. Overall, our stay was beyond enjoyable and we could not have asked for more wonderful hosts. Thank you, thank you, thank you for letting us stay with you! Your kindness made a challenging transition for our family much, much easier. We are incredibly grateful for your hospitality and will definitely come back to visit!
Wonderful place. Very isolated from the main house which was lovely. The full kitchen with the washer dryer made our vacation a breeze. Krista was also a great host! Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
We greatly enjoyed our Thanksgiving weekend in this charming guest house, furnished and decorated in country antique, with ample space for a third person (even fourth) in the upstairs sitting area. Plenty of room there for our adult son to stretch out and watch football on the TV. Bedroom had large walk in closet with comfy bed. Upstairs had great view of the spacious private bricked in garden. The kitchen was equipped with every needed item to make meals, a table, chairs for four and a TV, with lovely view of garden. Use of the oven and microwave helped us prepare our Thanksgiving dinner, which we greatly valued. Much appreciated coffee, breakfast breads, fresh fruit, OJ and milk were provided by Krista. The surrounding neighborhood was quiet with charming homes and gardens, very suitable for peaceful walks. Location was just minutes from the historic area, shopping malls and restaurants. We greatly appreciated our hostess being dog friendly, affording us to include our 4 legged friends on this holiday visit. The entrance to this guest house was easy to find because of the orange cone provided as a visual marker. Plenty of space for parking. Adjacent to the guest house was the lovely main home. Krista stopped by to say hello and was very warm and welcoming.
I had a very pleasant stay. The house was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The location was great.
The guest house was completely as advertised. A very comfortable living situation in a central location in Aiken. The kitchen on the 1st floor was well stocked with pots, pans, etc., and the bed upstairs was very comfortable. We spoke to Krista a few times during our stay, she is very friendly and an excellent host. The neighborhood is beautiful, full of nice, older homes on the edge of horse country. A very nice overall experience.
I spent the month of June 2014 in Augusta for work. Rather than stay in a Agusta Hotel I chose to stay at Krista's Guest house in Aiken. It was absolutely the best decision I made. It's a un-congested, stress free 35 min drive to the Ft Gordon exit.
Guest house is beautifully decorated. Plenty of room to stretch out. Great kitchen. that I cooked in. A guest house is set in beautiful garden. You wake up to bird songs & sunlight. Set in a affluent old tree lined neighborhood with horse farms. Aiken evokes the quaint southern charm in fiction based on the south.
Krista herself is the epitome of southern hospitality. Wonderfully charming & sweet and a gracious host. She even went out of her way to get me a better wifi connection so that my partner; Linda could telecommute. Linda was charmed by Krista and her husband who we got to share a bottle of wine and company for a few hours.
I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay here. It was a very memorable month in a wonderful corner of the south.
My husband and I are both retired. We love the out of doors- and manage family farms in the area. Aiken is a great place to live! I garden, take long walks and we can get to the mountains or ocean in 3 hours.
