Guest House in the historic horse district - one bedroom, bathroom, and sitting room upstairs with a kitchen, bathroom and laundry downstairs. The space was recently renovated, so all of the finishes and fittings are fresh.
We are lucky that our home has location-location-location! Within a one-mile radius we have downtown, Hitchcock Woods, Hopeland Gardens, Palmetto Golf Club, and the Horse District with Polo fields, Aiken Training Track and the Aiken Horse Park. The downtown area is vibrant and includes an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants and night spots. We are about 15 miles from SRS and Bridgestone.
Aiken is a special town. We enjoy a long fall and spring (maybe 2-3 weeks of winter). I have flowers blooming in my yard every month of the year. The horse industry makes this community unique- we walked down to the training track this morning and watched Palice Malice (2013 winner of the Belmont) out for his exercise. The community wraps around a 2000 acre protected greenspace that is a great place for long walks, bird watching or trail rides.
Please come to visit- you will be glad you did.

I spent the month of June 2014 in Augusta for work. Rather than stay in a Agusta Hotel I chose to stay at Krista's Guest house in Aiken. It was absolutely the best decision I made. It's a un-congested, stress free 35 min drive to the Ft Gordon exit.
Guest house is beautifully decorated. Plenty of room to stretch out. Great kitchen. that I cooked in. A guest house is set in beautiful garden. You wake up to bird songs & sunlight. Set in a affluent old tree lined neighborhood with horse farms. Aiken evokes the quaint southern charm in fiction based on the south.
Krista herself is the epitome of southern hospitality. Wonderfully charming & sweet and a gracious host. She even went out of her way to get me a better wifi connection so that my partner; Linda could telecommute. Linda was charmed by Krista and her husband who we got to share a bottle of wine and company for a few hours.
I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay here. It was a very memorable month in a wonderful corner of the south.
Unfortunately Krista was out of town the weekend of our stay, wished we could've met her! She left hand written notes and directions to nearby places of interest and fruit and snacks on our arrival. Her guest house was sooooo comfortable and first (email hidden) fiancé LOVED her sense of decorating with amazing antique pieces throughout the house. Honestly can't say enough great things about our experience on the property!!
Although we're Airbnb hosts, this was my first experience as a guest. It really could not have been better. The guest house made my whole visit to SC! It was totally private, recently renovated, super clean, and just perfect for me (or for a couple). There's a small kitchen downstairs with the basics (beautiful collection of copper pots and pans), a washer and dryer, and bathroom with tub. Along the staircase to the second level is a collection of Native American photographs and artifacts. A bathroom (with toiletry items if you forget anything below the sink), sitting room, and bedroom complete with antiques, a super-comfortable bed, tv with cable (got an AMC film in), and lots of windows. I really enjoyed short visits with Krista as she made her morning rounds in her beautiful garden. Picture perfect, all of it, with delicious zucchini bread and fruit in the mornings. I would definitely recommend this to the traveler who appreciates lovingly restored and cared-for places. Should I be in Aiken again, I will surely stay here.
Simply perfect. I came in for all the March Aiken festivities and found this sweet house clean, updated, private, and very comfortable. The location is to die for if you want to be a midst the town, the track, and all other (especially horse) related activities. Krista is a perfect landlord as she was available, if needed, but very unobtrusive. I would go back without hesitation again and again.
This place is the best! It's a small space, perfect for 2 people. Has a fully stocked kitchen with microwave, stove, pots and pans, and utensils if you are in a cooking mood. The owner, Krista is so kind and sweet, she even bought us some snacks to have. It's about a 15 minuet walk to downtown Aiken on a very nice boulevard. The neighborhood the home is in is amazing, it's Aiken's old mansion district. Just be sure you call ahead and ask how to get there, because the main entrance is on a busy road, but the back entrance is on a nice quiet street. This place is the best, and Aiken is a great little town. It is not stagnating and dying like many rural SC areas, but is doing very well and has many great places to eat, horseback riding, hiking in the Hitchcock woods, or Hopeland Gardens, and other great stuff I am sure. This is the kind of place that convinces you airbnb is better than any hotel!
A very pleasant as well as charming, separate guest house. Excellent hospitality. Highly recommended.
