We stayed in Js apartment for a week.
It was our first experience with AirBnB and it couldn't have been better!
Communication upfront was really clear and prompt.
J was not in town when we arrived, so a friend of J handed over our keys and gave us feedback about the surrounding area. After arriving at the airport, we only had to send a text to his friend, when approximately 30 minutes away from the apartment.
We had a small issue with one layout in the bathroom, which seemed to have a reset button, which was new to us... When we issued this, J reacted promptly.
Apartment is everything as mentioned and fully equipped; the only thing we weren't used to, was the cozy bed (rather small).
Location is wonderful; across the street there's a huge supermarket, a bank with withdrawal-possibilities for foreign bank-passes and a Staples with access to a computer and printer, so we could print tickets and boarding passes.
There are many bars and restaurants right around the area; have a walk and you'll be able to find something which suits you.
Public transport is close to the apartment and taxi's are just around the corner on 2nd av.
J is a great host, very kind and friendly, reliable, very responsive and we would stay in one of his apartments without a doubt next time we visit NY.
We totally recommend staying here!
J, thanks again for such a great stay!
The"One layout" that Alex speaks of in the apartment is the GFI receptacle that she must have tripped using the hairdryer and something else simultaneously. I immediately responded to the request(within 5 minutes) and all that needed to be done is that it be reset by clicking the "reset" button on the receptacle.
With regards to the bed being "(rather small)", this is all relative to what you are accustomed to. A full-sized mattress is more than sufficient for two people to sleep in, and the listing clearly states that the bed is full-sized. The mattress is neither small for a queen or big for a twin, it is simply a full-sized mattress :)
Very clean apartment at a great neighborhood. Owner was a delight to deal with.
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Department 15 days between May and April of this year. Everything was absolutely excellent. JS was very helpful from the first moment and answered all my queries were many! Excellent location, meters from the apartment there is supermarket, ATM, pharmacy, subway a few blocks away. Within the Department, it is all the same to the photographs, it is beautiful to see the Empire State from the window each night before going to sleep.Sounds are not heard, the building is quiet and the neighbors I saw (website hidden) first time in NY I have stayed in the Upper est side, is very nice but wouldn't hesitate to reselect this Department for my next visit. It is the area and the Department indicated. The only thing that could include is one game of towels and sheets. Maybe a bit of salt and sugar. Js thanks for everything! Sorry for my delay in qualifying but wanted to spend time. NY is our place in the world, I hope to be able to stay in your apartment all times again! Best regards! Vanesa
Me and my girlfriend stayed 9 days in this apartment. J is very accessible and always answered promptly our questions. The check in was very easy, once we just send a message saying that we were 10 minutes from the apartment and his friend was there to gives us the keys and share some informations.
The apartment's localization is perfect just a few blocks from the subway and having a supermarket right in front of the building. The bathroom is nice and the kitchen has everything you need for a quick meal. There are two closets with several hangers what to us was a plus. This is definitely an excellent choice in New York, and for sure I will rent again on others opportunities.
This is an amazing studio very well located, near from many subway's lines. JS is a very nice person. And the photos are exactly how the apartment is. I totally recommend.
I had a great stay at J's appartment. I stayed here for 10 days after 9 months in NY. The appartment is well located just few minutes from the subway, very large and clean, with everything you need (kitchen fully equiped...). I would definitely recommend this place for a stay in NY and would come back for sure!
I had a great time at Js apartment, it was a great choice. The location is great, I walked almost everywhere. There is a supermarket just across the street which is very useful. In the apartment they have all the amenities you need. The view from the apartment's window was excellent.
I had an amazing time and I would stay there again for sure.
Overall a good experience. There were a few hiccups in the road at the beginning but they were quick to resolve the issue. Communication between the host and I was easy and also very friendly. Amazing location, only a few blocks away from 28th station on the 6. Building was great, photographs of the place are pretty accurate and it was in a safe and very convenient location. Would definitely book with the host again in the future!
My first experience with Airb&b was a total success. Jay and E were fantastic hosts, responded to everything quickly and efficiently, and made sure I was comfortable from day 1. I was so sad to leave the apartment as it was so comfortable, cozy, and safe. Easy access to everything, including a brand new Fairway supermarket, the movie theater, stores, just about everything was within walking distance. The best part was the amazing VIEW, you can see both the Empire State and Chryster buildings!!
I highly recommend staying here and will definitely return when I'm back in NYC. Thanks guys, very much.
Had a great stay at J's apt. Check in/out was super easy. J was friendly and extremely accommodating with our later than expected arrival due to flight delays. The place itself is pretty much just like the photos. It may appear as bare bones, but it has what you need and everything seemed brand new... a good clean bed, a nice clean couch, a nice tv, a dresser, closet, clean bathroom, clean sheets, etc. The fridge was pretty much brand new. The location is great in a cool neighborhood. There is a great super market on the corner, a cool restaurant/pub. All kinds of places to eat. The 6 Subway line is about 3 or 4 blocks away. Will most likely stay here again and will recommend to friends!
