The Forestry House is a luxury modern treehouse. You will feel immersed in the canopy with two walls of glass. Enjoy your morning espresso or shower on the back deck with the birds singing and end your day with a glass of local wine under the stars at the fire pit!
The space
This treehouse is tucked away on a property with partial mountain views- better in the winter months. You will have seclusion but still be only minutes to restaurants, shopping, and wineries. The treehouse is set up as a studio space with a private bathroom. The bathroom has a flush toilet, and large shower with great water pressure. There is also an outdoor shower on the back deck (will be turned off for the winter when temperatures get below freezing at night) if you prefer showering with the birds, including Betty, our resident owl. There are two walls of glass with no window treatments, but there is total privacy (and sleeping masks are provided for any light concerns). There is a covered deck on the front and back and a larger deck with gas fire pit overlooking the treehouse. As you enter the treehouse there is a space for your coats and shoes and a book nook with plenty of good reads and games. On the other side there is a dining table for two and cozy leather sofa to curl up on with that new found book. The kitchen includes a two burner induction cooktop, large toaster oven and air fryer, fridge, and Nespresso machine with pods and sugar. The king size bed affords you an amazing view of the stars at night and there is a bench at the end for your luggage. There are plenty of hooks on the wall with a few hangers for those dressier clothes. The mini split keeps the temperature exactly how you like it. The back deck has two comfy chairs and an end table to enjoy a drink or a meal alfresco. We intentionally do not have tv or wifi to help you unplug and truly relax. (Cellular service with Verizon is excellent with 5G) We also included a couple yoga mats to use inside or on the decks. If you still aren't relaxed, we can get you connected to a licensed massage therapist who will come to the treehouse!
There is plenty of wildlife on the property. We have seen countless birds, lizards, deer, turkeys, raccoons, foxes, bobcats, woodchucks, flying squirrels, and our resident bear Billy...and his sister Milly.
We are located just 10 minutes from the adorable downtown Travelers Rest, 30 minutes from downtown Greenville, and 45 min to downtown Asheville, NC. There are hiking trails, winery trails, brewery trails, and BBQ trails all at your fingertips! A few of our favs are Restaurant 17, and Eagle Mountain Winery just 5 minutes up the road and Jones Gap State Park is 20 minutes away for some great hikes.
After leaving the asphalt road there is a gravel driveway about 300 feet long that ends in a circle down to the treehouse. It is best to follow the one way sign and drive counterclockwise around it otherwise it can be very hard to get up the little hill. The drive brings you right to the fire pit deck and stairs down to the treehouse.
We are located 30-35 minutes from the Asheville airport (AVL) and 35-40 from the Greenville airport (GVL)

Please note that if linens/towels are stained or damaged beyond normal cleaning we will ask for reimbursement to replace the items.
