We have a renovated upstairs private area which has 2 bedrooms with King Singles, a private guest bathroom and a deck with tranquil views over a peaceful bay full of sailing boats. The space is perfect for a couple travelling together, two singles or a single.
There is a 12 metre swimming pool available for guest use.
A substantial continental breakfast is provided, evening meal on request.
The nearest train station is St Leonards, about 5 minutes drive away with plenty of taxis around. The airport train connects to the St Leonards "north shore" line, or there is a door to door airport shuttle service called Airport Shuttle North.
The local shops are about 15 minutes walk or there are buses. There are many coffee shops, restaurants, hairdressers etc. Lane Cove has a genuine community fee.
There are regular bus services, ferry services and a nearby train station which connect to the city. The city is 20 minutes by ferry and car, and about 40 minutes by bus.
We are a home away from home. Close to the city, yet plenty of peace and a number of harbourside bush walks nearby. Staying near the harbour in Sydney will make you feel part of this beautiful city.
We encourage guests to use our lovely 12 metre pool and garden, as well as a comfortable lounge area.
Interaction with Guests
We are happy for guests to enjoy their breakfast privately but will be around to help with any local advice.
The Lane Cove/Northwood area is unique in that it is so close to the Sydney CBD yet has a quiet, leafy holiday feel about it. The people are friendly, and there is lots to do - village style shopping, sailing, golf, tennis, bushwalking and lots of restaurants.
Northwood has a private ferry service to the Sydney CBD every weekday morning and evening. There are also regular busses to the city and Lane Cove and the train station is only 5 minutes away.
Other Things to Note
Sydney fireworks views - just a short 5 minute stroll to a great position with views and less crowds than in the city!
You can be as independent as you like, but we're happy to help and chat about anything that's going on in Sydney.
I can thoroughly recommend staying with Michele.
The house is located in a lovely part of the Lower North Shore and the room is comfortable and well set up, with plenty of privacy and a wonderful view.
Michelle and her husband are delightful company and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and Sydney in general. Very easy going and generous hosts.
Michele is a wonderful host! She was very amenable to my questions, schedule and accommodated my late-ish arrival (delayed flight) and early starts! She provided a very nutritious breakfast each morning. Michele is a very interesting person so I found her very good company. The view of the bay from my room was gorgeous and if you are wanting to stay in a very quiet part of north Sydney to relax, this is ideal. Note: i) this area is hilly - so if you want to get around, be prepared for some good work-outs! ii) there are stairs to the bedroom in which you'll stay. Some lovely walks nearby through Osborne Park - hard to imagine you're in Sydney. I would highly recommend Michele as a host! Thanks.
