  • We have stayed in a number of AirBnB apartments, and enjoyed our time in all of them, but Marlene's apartment really stands out for us.
The description "sunny" is perfect.. it really is. We were there for 6 nights, and we spent mornings exploring, and our afternoons on the terrace enjoying the spring sun. The terrace on the other side was set up with a table for eating out, which we certainly used.
The living room and the bedroom is bright and airy with the two doors out to the terraces.
The apartment is nicely renovated, and beautifully furnished. The bathroom has good space to spread out your toiletries. And Marlene has thoughtfully stocked a second cabinet filled with various medical supplies just in case they are needed. Very thoughtful. The kitchen is large and everything we needed was provided.
The coffee table had a file box with a large collection of brochures and guide books, and Marlene has also taken the time to put together her own personal guide book to the area, restaurants and places to see which was very useful to us.
Marlene was out of town when we arrived but she arranged for a family member to pick us up right from the train platform, and give us a small tour of the town before showing us the apartment and features.
During the week she responded to our emails and one phone call that we needed to make immediately. The morning we were leaving Marlene showed up with coffee and croissants to meet us and ask us how our stay was and to give us more background on Perpignan and the region.
The location being 5 minutes walk from the train and bus station could not have been better, and also about 5 minutes to the centre of town.
We loved Perpignan and the apartment very much. Its evident that Marlene has put her heart and soul into her apartment and wants to ensure all her guests are feel welcome. We certainly did! And we want to come back and explore the region more, six days was just a start...

  • FANTASTIC FLAT! STAY HERE! Marlene's immaculate and stylish flat is underbilled. The views from the eastern terrace of the snow-covered Pic du Canigou were gorgeous. The flat is conveniently located for exploring the best of Perpignan on foot or zooming out of town via train or car.

Marlene's exceptional artwork, humor and thoughtfulness grace every smart room, especially the huge, fully-outfitted kitchen. She went out of her way to make sure that we had everything we needed. Her British friend even called us from his vacation to check that we'd gotten the rugby tickets that we wanted!

Everything about our stay in Marlene's flat was exceptional - from the thorough and quick email communication to the price. When we go back to Perpignan - and we will - we will definitely rent this flat again.

  • Had a great stay. The flat was fantastic: great views, plenty of space and comfortable. Marlene was very accommodating and friendly.

  • Marlene hosted my father and I in her beautiful flat in Perpignan. It has two terraces with wonderful views, lush houseplants in every room, and great art. We enjoyed many meals and afternoons lounging around the flat and on the terraces during our 8 night stay. It is about a ten minute walk to the walled-in center of the old city, and her neighborhood is lovely. There are wonderful walks in every direction. We took the 1 Euro bus and train all the way to a lovely Spanish border Mediterranean town and well into the Pyrenees to see a medieval fortress by her recommendation. Marlene even took us out to dinner in Perpignan! Her home is well-equipped with a large kitchen, and she provides everything you could need in a household, including a stocked medicine cabinet. Markets for fresh inexpensive food, a contemporary art museum, and many bars and cafes line her neighborhood. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

  • Enjoyed a 10 day stay in the apartment, first with my daughter & then with my husband. We all loved the place, it is well located for visiting the old town & accessing bus & rail transport.
Marlene & Steve were super and the apartment was very much "a home" rather than the anonymous and typical holiday let. It was well resourced and many thanks to our hosts for their recommendations and advice.
We would love to return someday.

  • Wonderful stay in Marlene's beautiful apartment, artsy and cosy at the same time! Marlene not only has good taste when it comes to interior design but goes the extra mile to make her guests feel welcome and at home, from printing her very personal guide of Perpignan to having touristic leaflets already available at home! The apartment is full of little details that show that she cares for her guests! And she makes wonderful company for lunches at Le Figuier! :) Thanks a lot Marlene and yes, surely see you next year!

I love art and travel, around the block or worldwide ! I like meeting new people from abroad, chatting around a good bottle of wine, make them discover my area. I love speaking english so english speakers are welcome ! Can't wait to meet you at my place. See you soon. J'aime l'art en général et les voyages, qu'ils soient au coin de ma rue ou autour du monde. J'aime rencontrer de nouvelles personnes, discuter autour d'une bonne bouteille et leur faire découvrir les environs.
