About this listing
What's your idea of paradise? Ours is this modest little home on top of a hill with the most spectacular view of the Prainha beach in Arraial do Cabo. It has a fully-equipped kitchen, two large beds, a flat screen TV and fast wifi.
Located right in front of Prainha, Arraial do Cabo's most central beach, our house is just a 5-minute car ride from the bus station and the supermarkets, shops, restaurants, and bars of downtown Arraial do Cabo.
You wouldn't know it from up here. Sitting on the veranda, all you'll hear is the wind and the sound of the waves. It's a very therapeutic thing, to sit here looking down at the swimmers and at the large turtles that, on sunny days, come out to say hello.
You'll have the entire house to yourself. If you're coming by car, you can safely park outside.
Interaction with Guests
We won't be there to hand you the keys in person, but we'll be in touch through email and available over the phone. Our lovely neighbor, who cleans and prepares our house for the guests, is always ready to help.
The house is located on top of a hill facing Prainha ("Morro da Prainha"), the most central and well-known beach in Arraial do Cabo.
Up on top of the hill, there are only houses. To get to the Prainha beach, you have to go down the hill, then walk for two blocks.
Prainha offers calm, crystal clear waters that are warm even at nighttime. The beach is lined up with restaurants that set up parasols and chairs at the beach, so you can enjoy beer, coconut water and seafood with your feet in the sand.
For those who enjoy sports, it's cheap and easy to rent either a kayak or a snorkel here. Arraial is also considered one of Brazil's best diving spots.
Arraial do Cabo is located 130 km from Rio. There are buses from both the Niterói and the Rio de Janeiro bus stations. It's a 3-hour trip that costs R$ 40,00.
Our house is within walking distance not only to Prainha, but also to Praia Grande, Praia do Forno, and Praia dos Anjos.
To see other paradisiacal beaches —such as As Prainhas —you can either hop on a boat (locals offer affordable half-day boat tours to Arraial's best beaches) or go by car.
For a sophisticated dinner or a night out, you can either take a bus or drive to nearby Búzios. In Cabo Frio, located just 30 minutes away, you'll find gorgeous beaches with waves, churches and fortresses, and more options for places to eat.
Other Things to Note
- The house is on top of a long hill. Getting there on foot can be exhausting, especially after a long day at the beach. Once you're at the top of the hill, you still have to go down a flight of stairs before entering the house. We recommend coming by car, especially if you have difficulties walking.
