Very spartan accommodations which is what I expected. A quaint place that is in the heart of the city very close to a main subway line. Living in close quarters with friendly people of all ages. Though the complex was quiet the fridge next to the bed could be a nuisance unless you are a sound sleeper.
There was no internet service even though it was promised. I had to beg a young neighbour if I could use her wifi. Then I had to hang out in the hallway to have access to the signal. Can't live without internet then this may not be your place to stay.
Other than that no complaints. Couldn't beat the location.
Very charming old lane house flat in Shanghai, central location yet quiet and green surrounded by beautiful alleys. Really lovely waking up to the birds singing outside the window every morning. Everything you need to see, do, and taste within walking distance. Ansgar was great host, quick to respond to all my requests even when he was on the road and 7hrs time difference between us!
