I stayed at Jose's place while working in New York over the summer. I had such a great time! Jose is one of the nicest people I've met and he made sure that I had everything I needed. I was so grateful for the AC in the bedroom, as some nights got really hot. The kitchenette area was larger than I expected, and it was equipped with everything I needed. I had a lot of privacy and the house was quiet. The neighborhood is really nice, with a lot of restaurants and bars within walking distance. I will really be missing Jose's place! :)

Manny is the perfect host and the place is great! Not only a bedroom but a sitting room/kitchen and brand new bathroom. The neighborhood is really great, it's quiet with lovely brownstones and quaint bar/restaurants on the corners.

Jose is extremely responsive and flexible. The location is fabulous, right in the middle of Park Slope--walking distance to everything. The rooms, more like a suite, are extremely pretty, clean, and welcoming...also very quiet on the third floor. I can't say enough about Jose and the wonderful stay.

I loved staying at this house. Jose was welcoming and helpful. There were lovely touches: snacks in the kitchen on arrival - this meant a lot as I had had a long journey and I arrived late at night. The bonus is the space: there are three rooms to which you have access. 1. There is a lovely bedroom with beautiful vintage furniture, including a comfortable and firm queen sized bed. I have a bad back and never once suffered with it whilst here. The bedroom has lots of closet space, is sunny and you can hear the ambiance of the neighbourhood from the room: I loved waking up to the sound of birds, the sound of traffic and the chatter of children catching the school bus. 2. There is also a living space, a sitting room come dining room come work station. Having this additional space made the space feel very much like I had an apartment. In addition, the landing upstairs was large enough to function as a library for all the books I bought with me. 3. The bathroom is lovely and has a vintage style bath and shower, with vintage style wallpaper. Jose uses the bathroom just once a day and so, again it felt that I had the bathroom, essentially, to myself. For New York City, it was wonderful to have space to spread out. The location of the house is excellent too. Park Slope is a beautiful space and place to be. There are some great places to eat on both 5th Ave and on 7th Avenue. (I would check out the Thai restaurants on 5th and there is a lovely allnight cafe on 7th called the Donut Cafe). There are art galleries, independent restaurants, a beautiful local library and a local community garden where you can sit out in the spring/summer. Having a kitchen meant I could shop fairly economically at C-Town on 9th St and then cook. This avoided a need to eat out every night. People in the neighbourhood are friendly (people on the corner say good morning and good evening to you), the local community garden was just coming into bloom as I my trip came to an end. I felt safe walking home late at night from the F line; this was essential, as my work meant that I had lots of late nights. The house is well located. I enjoyed early morning sessions at the local yoga studio. I also loved that the house is LGBTQI friendly and that I was given a warm welcome by Jose and the long-term tenant in the house. If I had any issues, I could raise them with Jose and he would do his best to resolve them and quickly. I would highly recommend this place. It is a positive space to be, a great place to work and offers an excellent, reasonably priced space in which to live and experience New York City.

I loved my stay at Manny's. The room was cozy and private. I basically had use of the third floor, with a little kitchenette (shared) and a bathroom that was only shared by the hosts for morning showers. The separate entry was helpful as I was coming and going at odd hours. Manny was very responsive to any need I had. I would stay again, for sure.
