No house rules, building and neighborhood is very quite so keeping noise level down would be great. Guest room is on the 3rd floor and guests are free to come and go as they please.
Everything was good! Great building and neighborhood, convenient location, nice and clean ... would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in New York, with no hesitation.
Staying at Manny and Jose's house was the most incredible experience. They're just as kind as you can get. The house is amazing, you get a whole floor for you, with a spacious bathroom, a cozy living room and a lovely bedroom. Downstairs, Jose' and Manny are always there for you, giving you great advices on where to go, eat and have fun. Park Slope (the neighborhood the house's in) is just awesome: secure at night, but also filled with great places to hang out. There can be no words good enough to describe my month in Manny and Jose's house, so I'll go with a single one: perfect.
We had a great stay at Manny's place. We basically had the whole 3rd floor with a bathroom to ourselves. Manny was only around on the day we arrived so the apartment was really quiet. Subway ride to Manhattan takes about 30 min plus 800 meter walk.
The apartment was very easy to find. The neighborhood seems rather peaceful and there are plenty of bars and restaurants around. If I come to NY again some day I wouldn't mind staying at Manny's place again. I would recommend Manny's place to anyone who doesn't necessarily want stay at Manhattan.
I had a great time in this place, more space than I expected a bedroom and a separately room with a couch and a fridge. Everything was nice and clean and Manny was very friendly and helpfully.
Everything was as it was arranged. We really enjoyed our stay in Manny's house. Manny and Jose have helped us with everything. The first day Manny walked us to the subway, to help us how to travel since we don't speak a native english. In Christmas's eve they invited us to have breakfast and then, to have lunch. They were so friendly with us!
Manny's place is very comfortable and looks just as pictured. The best part of this arrangement is the privacy. You pretty much have the entire floor to yourself, with a spacious bedroom, and an adjacent sitting room/kitchen (Manny says the stove will be up and running soon). The bathroom/shower is also on this floor, making it very convenient.
The building is an old Brownstone and has a Brooklyn charm. It's a great neighborhood with lots of fun little cafes and bars and restaurants. Definitely would recommend staying here! Manny is a gracious host and very welcoming.
I had the great fortune of staying with Manny for three months in the fall of 2014. It truly felt like I was living in a home rather than staying in an airbnb. This was because of Manny. He made me feel welcome from the beginning, and he was always incredibly considerate, trusting, and supportive as a flatmate. He invited me for Thanksgiving dinner, and we shared many, many, conversations throughout my stay. I will always appreciate his thoughtful advice on the city, life, and especially relationships. I wholeheartedly recommend staying with Manny in Park Slope. My time in New York was amazing and I hopefully will be returning many more times!
