I love the charm, the access to great restaurants and bars that aren't too crowded, a local feel, tree lines and cobblestone streets once you wonder deep in the village. I love the access to so many other great places in New York, and I just love my apartment. Great space, great light, cozy.
Yes, west 4th subway is two blocks away. The Houston stop for the 1 line is also three blocks away.
Please refrain from smoking in the apartment, having large parties, or bringing pets. I would hope you care for my home as you do your own, and try to keep in the same condition that I keep it in. Recycling is on the right side under the sink, garbage on the left. If you need to take out the either on, the bins for the building can be find outside the door near the mail boxes in the main entrance. The apartment automatically locks when you close the door, so ALWAYS make sure you have the keys when leaving. That being said, you must dead bolt the door once you leave, as well as from the inside of the apartment.
If you get cold, there is a space heater. Please turn off when leaving the apartment. Close all windows when not in the apartment.
Taleah's apartment was perfect! It was even more cozy, warm, and welcoming than the pictures suggest. It was very clean and I will echo the sentiments of others -- the bed is VERY comfy.
Equally as wonderful was the neighborhood. It was within close walking distance to some of the best places to eat in NYC, and a great neighborhood to simply explore, any time of day or night. Loved it -- would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a truly unique NYC place.
This was honestly such an, unexpectedly, amazing experience! Aside from how helpful, prompt, welcoming and responsive Taleah was, the apartment was superb. The space was clean, spacious, and inviting.
The apartment is located in the heart of west village, at the center of everything -- shops, galleries, restaurants, etc.
And I must say, the bed I slept on was unbelievably comfortable.
I highly recommend this apartment for your next New York visit.
Taleah was responsive during booking process and very accommodating with our arrival and departure schedules. She texted us from her business trip to Cannes just to check that we had everything we needed - so sweet. Very unexpectedly, she offered and arranged her driver to take us to the airport - service beyond expectations.
The apartment is exactly as pictured. Its very clean. Tastefully decorated. Great water pressure. VERY comfortable bed - we had no problems sleeping. And A/C! We turned off when we were out, then turned back on upon returning - the place cools down very quickly.
We couldn't have asked for a better location. Access to coffee, breakfast, wine and beer shops and good eats within a block. We stumbled upon Market Table just to grab a glass of wine, ending up eating dinner then brought our friends the following night (they fit us in even though they were fully booked!). Great service and food.
Some tips to consider:
- If you have to have coffee when you wake up (like us), pack a French Press. If not, Prodigy is within a block (we bought mugs as souvenirs so every morning we are reminded of our wonderful trip).
- Be in shape to go up 5 flights. The positive is that you won't feel guilty about eating that cannoli from Rocco's!
We wanted a place where we could experience living like a local in a neighborhood. Taleah's place totally fit the bill!
Taleah was very welcoming and helpful. She has a binder full of helpful things about the neighborhood and places to check out. She does live in the apt on a regular basis but she keeps it clean and uncluttered. We did not feel overwhelmed with her personal things as we have at other airbnb apts. The apt. is in a fun neighborhood and we felt very safe there. It was also a lot quieter than others we have stayed at. I would definitely recommend it. My husband thought it was the best one we have stayed at in NYC so far.
The location of this apartment is amazing. The downside is you could spend weeks and weeks in just a two-block radius and never leave the neighborhood :) If you like to eat delicious food, walk around cool neighborhoods, and be a few short blocks to trains that get you everywhere else (in the event that you'd want to leave the neighborhood) you have to stay here! I am shocked I didn't gain 20 pounds over my visit (what with Murray's Cheese, Grom Gelato, and Bagel on the Square within a block or two of the apartment). Taleah was super communicative and left us lots of good ideas for things to do/see/eat. The apartment itself was nicely laid out and the bed was super comfy! Thanks for letting us stay in your great apartment!
This was a fantastic experience, and is the whole reason why Airbnb works so well. I cannot imagine anyone regretting their decision to book here even given the amount of choice there must be in New York.
The apartment itself is a good size (Im assuming) for Manhattan. Its impeccably clean, the shower is powerful, hot and works perfectly. The bed is standard double size and very comfy. The lounge has a large sofa and the kitchen has everything any visitor could require- but to be honest we didn't really use either of these as we didn't come to New York to sit indoors!
Now to the best part- the location! As a first time visitor to New York, I was a bit nervous about distances from places and you can never tell exactly what a neighbourhood is like until you get there. Suffice to say that both me and my GF felt that this was the best part of our trip- and obviously that's saying something!
Greenwich Village is everything we imagined times ten. We could have spent all week there and never got bored. Too many restaurants and bars within a five minute walk to mention- all top quality, trendy and the people so so friendly. Wish everywhere was like this.
For sightseeing it was perfect too. Just five minutes from two subway stations which means 10/15 minutes from anywhere south of Central Park.
I could go on forever but i'm sure this is only one of dozens of good reviews. Would love to return to NY one day and when I do it will be at Taleahs hopefully.
We had the pleasure of staying here for a week. The apartment is just as described and in a perfect location. Lots of places to eat and drink close by.
Taleah provided us with lots of useful information both before and during our stay of things to do and see and how to get there.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in NYC and will be back again!
Thank you Taleah!
About the Host, Taleah
I've lived in New York for four years, having spent most of my life in California. I work in advertising and do a lot of traveling for work and for play. A good book, a walk with my dog, a great laugh and a beach are big enjoyments for me.
