A big atelier (80 m2) just 10 minutes by foot from down town of Berne but close to the forest park. Two beds in a special atmosphere amid paintings and photographs, table soccer and snooker table, dart and others. Two WC's, one shower room, gym, nespresso coffee machine and a small kitchen with a necessary equipment. The floor heating makes the stay also in winter very comfortable.
Johnny is an easygoing and gracious host. The artist studio's open plan creates a visually spacious and pleasing space, I wish more time has been spent at the studio. The kitchen is amply stocked with cooking utensils, and having 1.5 bathrooms to use is also a big plus.
We walked everywhere, except for the first ride from and last ride to the train station. The walk up to Gurten is easily doable from the studio.
One final note, of the 6 cities we've gone to in France, Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Italy, Bern's tap water tastes the best and most refreshing to me. Go Bern!
Playful and welcoming, I had a wonderful stay at Johnny Pace's pad in Bern.
Johnny's atalier was unique and one of the best AirBnB places we have stayed at. Although we were unable to meet Johnny due to our schedules, he was always courteous and prompt in his communication with us. Everything was spotlessly clean and fresh. The atalier is located in a very quiet neighborhood where all the embassies seem to be. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the main parts of Bern, and many museums are only a few blocks away. There are also several bakeries, cafes, and a Migros supermarket nearby. The atalier has a well equipped kitchen with pots, pans, knives, etc. so it's easy to have a relaxing night in. I highly recommend staying in Johnny's atalier if you are in Bern.
A very big place with artistic things and entertainments, second floor with some gyms, thanks you very much for offering us the atelier!
Very easy and seamless to stay here. It really felt like the place was ours and we could make the most of seeing Bern. While not in the center of town, it's really not more than a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute bus ride to most places. While there's only one bed to sleep in, the place is very large.
The apartment is perfectly located. Beautiful area and transport is easy. The apartment itself is interesting and something different. We had a great stay and I would recommend this apartment!
This was the perfect place to stay. Absolutely. This IS the place to stay. Very easy to find, and a key was left out for us. Everything is within easy walking distance. We walked to the train and all city sites in about 10 minutes. The downstairs shower (and stairs to it) is essentially private. The place is huge and decorated with art. You have your own kitchen for cooking, piano, Foosball table, billiard table, CD player and CDs. There was even a pull-down screen and projector so you can play a movie (I brought one). We walked 2 minutes to a local mini-grocery store, and bought dinner and breakfast and cooked it up ourselves in the kitchen, saving money that way for a nice dinner out and drinks the next night. It was the best place we stayed the entire week of vacation traveling across the country.
I had a great stay at Johnny's Atelier. It is in a beautiful part of the city and close to public transport. The Atelier is a really different and wonderful space to enjoy while also offering all the basics you need, fully equipped kitchen, wifi, linen, towels etc. I stayed during a very cold week in Bern yet the apartment was always warm and toasty with underfloor heating and has a powerful hot shower. I would definitely stay again.
Me and my colleague stayed duing a business trip in Johnny's Atelier and had a fantastic time. The atelier is beautiful and the location great. Walking distance to the city center and a grocery store close by. We had a wonderful stay and so will you :)
I've had a lovely stay at Johnny's atelier. The atelier has everything you may need to be confortable, it is beautifully heated plus the space is rather funky. The location is perfect, in a beautiful neighbourhood of Bern. It is possible to walk from here to the Centre and the University and there is buses and tram a minute away that will take you everywhere. There is a beautiful park just behind the atelier, and it is possible to walk/run by the river, which is gorgeous too. I think I have found my little hidaway in Bern and I will certainly use it every time I come to the city!
