About this listing
The cottage is a cute Manapouri house that sleeps 5 people in 3 bedrooms. Plenty of character and a great location - just a few minutes walk to the departure point for Doubtful Sound trips.
We offer a cozy stay in a rustic mountain cottage.
Welcome Home Cottage is a fully self contained cute character bach, located in Manapouri, on the edge of Fiordland National Park.
The cottage features superb mountain views, BBQ and outdoor area. There is also a huge backyard along with a working coal range, open fire, two mountain bikes for your use, plenty of books, games and DVDs to keep everyone entertained.
Lake Manapouri is a 5 minutes walk away, and with Te Anau being a 15 minute drive, it makes the Welcome Home Cottage an ideal place to base yourself for your adventures in Fiordland, and trip to Milford / Doubtful Sound.
There are three bedrooms (one king size, one queen size and one small room with single bunk beds). The main bedroom and smaller bunk bed room are within the main house, and the king size room has exterior access only - ie: it is a detached (website hidden). We also have a small cot mattress, portacot and high chair available if required. All linen and towels are included.
There is plenty of off-street parking available and there is even room for the boat too.
Enjoy a classic kiwi Fiordland experience, at the Welcome Home Cottage!

We would appreciate it if guests could leave the cottage in a clean and tidy state, similar to how they found it.
We had a great stay in our 2 nights at the cottage.
Liked the board games, open fire, fresh coffee beans and grinder, and used the mountain bikes too.
The home was warm, clean and has plenty of space.
Manapouri is really beautiful spot with the lake surrounded by snowy mountain peaks - and Te Anau nearby had the supermarket for all supplies (but the views at Te Anau not as impressive as Manapouri).
Highly recommend a few nights here and also would recommend doing the doubtful sound overnight cruise with real journeys (that was a great family experience).
Also we enjoyed a nice half day walk on the nearby Kepler Track - very easy and pleasant track through forest around lake TeAnau.
A great stay here.
Rustic cottage, well prepared for our very short stay, loved the homely feel and the books.
Very cosy cottage with fireplace. We enjoyed our stay. Warm enough with plenty of heaters.
Christine set the place up for us to feel quite welcome. The house is good, but a bit more cabin-type feeling. We stayed in winter and it's nice & cozy when the fire has been burning, but quite cold otherwise. That said, we had an overall good experience here and would stay here again.
Super séjour à Manapouri.
Le chalet est rustique, plein de charme et très bien équipé. La cheminée patinée par les années fonctionne admirablement bien: un vrai plaisir.
Christine a tout prévu pour que l'on se sente chez soi et pour faciliter le vie;
