The Space

Come stay in the cozy hillsides of Bernal Heights while you visit San Francisco!

We have a wonderful 3 bedroom, 3 bathrooms, well-maintained Edwardian home, on a safe and quiet street. Our home has a wonderful healing and spiritual vibration. We take pride in its calm and peaceful energy. We have a deck over looking the bay, a large kitchen with a sunny nook, a music/meditation/yoga room, and a living room with a fireplace.

Your room is furnished with a very comfortable full size bed. It faces west so it catches the wonderful and yummy afternoon sun. There is new Acacia hardwood floors, a large walk-in closet and custom made diamond light bay windows typical of Edwardians. Depending on the time of year, you might share your bathroom with other lovely airbnb guests.

Our neighborhood is full of cafes, restaurants, yoga studios, a bookstore, (email hidden), parks, and pleasant hikes with sweeping views. There is permit-free off street parking available.

We are 2 to 3 blocks away from major bus lines. You can also take a 7-minute bus ride to the train station (BART) or walk just 15 minutes and explore the neighborhoods of Bernal.

We are a lesbian couple and welcome queer and straight folks from everywhere! :-)!

Guest Access

We pretty much share our entire home with you, except for the downstairs garden room where we often stay. Your room is two stories above, so even though we might be home, you can always text us. :)

You have access to:
- dedicated shelf in the refrigerator
- everything in the kitchen including plates, utensils, pots, magic bullet, coffee maker, etc.
- living room with fireplace; if you want to surf the web with your laptop, we suggest you do it here instead of the kitchen. thanks!
- meditation/yoga/music room; you're welcome to use our meditation cushions and yoga mats & bolsters + sound system
- bathroom off the kitchen (sink & toilet okay, but showers happen in your bathroom upstairs).
- deck
- garden

Interaction with Guests

We interact with guests in an easy and organic way that feels appropriate to each person and situation. We offer plenty of privacy since this bedroom is upstairs and we're mostly downstairs. And sometimes we travel and may be away while you are here.

  • Marie & Nsomeka were absolutely wonderful hosts! They were, kind, generous, warm, gracious, helpful and engaging women. I loved the many interesting conversations we had about life and, also, how eager they were to answer any practical question I might have regarding how to get somewhere, or which places to visit and which to avoid. Marie gave me a lot of fantastic advice regarding places to see and the best ways to get there. My experience was greatly enhanced by her advice. They both have a lot of knowledge about the city and the surrounding area, and are just two incredibly cool people. The house was absolutely beautiful and had a very calming, relaxed energy. I loved my room, it was very clean, spacious, beautifully decorated and the bed was exceptionally comfortable; I slept very well, and I'm not usually the best sleeper. I really cherish the time I got to spend with Marie & Nsomeka and am so happy I chose them as hosts. I would greatly encourage others to do the same!

  • Marie and Nsomeka were very welcoming hosts that made us feel at home right away. They offered great advice on anything from great local neighborhoods and restaurants to check out, to meaningful life advice. They are very laid back and calm, which created a open and relaxing environment to be around. Our favorite part was catching up with them at the end of the day or next morning. They are wonderful breakfast chefs and I would recommend them to everyone, especially those that are friendly, kind, and looking for the same qualities in an airbnb home!

  • Another wonderful Airbnb experience! Marie and Nsomeka were extremely gracious hosts and were welcoming from the moment my friend and I arrived. The room and bathroom was as pictured and were impeccably clean and organized. They even had fresh water and chocolates waiting for us on the nightstand! I couldn't have had it better even if I was at a five-star hotel. Marie and Nsomeka are super friendly and fun to talk to. They really went above and beyond in hosting, making us feel truly at home. Marie even went as far to make us hot apple cider on chilly nights and yummy omelets the morning before we left. The entire house just had this positive and peaceful energy, and our stay with them was truly a highlight of our trip up to San Francisco. I wish we could have stayed longer!

  • Marie and Nsomeka are wunderful hosts! Its great to talk to them and hear about their storys. The house is awesome, the view in the morning on the deck, the music-room with the good acoustic and the cosy backyard with many lovely details. Our room was so beatiful, very clean und a lot of space. There is a private bathroom and everything you need for a shower.
They told us every day good places in the city and we had a nice Day in Berkeley and Oakland together.
When we will come back to San francisco, it will defenetly only one place where i will stay. At the wunderful house of Marie and Nsomeka. And they are very healthy persons, they use only organic food. Marie makes for us a very delecious Miso Soup in the morning. And Nsomeka take us on a tour through many guitar shops for finding a Ukulele.
That was the best Airbnb experience i ever had.

  • Marie and Nsomeka were amazing hosts. My boyfriend and I stayed with them for 4 nights in their lovely home. We felt extremely welcome and comfortable the entire time. We arrived late after a 24 hour day of travelling and were pleasantly surprised to arrive at a spotless room with water and chocolates! The next morning we woke up and Nsomeka cooked us a delicious breakfast! They both helped us figure out our way around the city and took us on a lovely walk to see the sights! We could not have asked for a better experience. A beautiful home with beautiful people! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the San Francisco area!

  • We had a lovely experience at Marie and Nsomeka's home. Because they were away for the time that we stayed there, they offered not only our room but the most of the rest of their home to us. I hope we left it in the same condition as we found it. Our one regret is that we did not have the opportunity to meet our hosts.

  • Marie and Nsomeka's home is just beautiful.
My friend and I stayed for three nights and both agreed that the bed was made for long sleeps and perfect for jet lag recovery-so comfortable!
With complimentary teas, room for your groceries in the fridge (email hidden) with a view that will knock your socks off!
This is not the place for anyone who wants to be in the thick of it. We loved exploring the city and using public transport so staying in the gorgeous bernal heights worked for us. The girls have created an oasis of calm so if you're in SF for its clubs and bars and living the night life, this is not the place for you.
But if you want to wander the neighbourhood, meet some locals ( we had great chats with the local corner store guys each time we popped in) and try out the best organic health food store I've ever seen (right near the glen part Bart) then contact Marie and Nsomeka.
Last hint: if you stay here look for the treeless hill around a mile to your left when you're looking out off the back deck. Make your way there for the most amazing views of this city.

Thanks again ladies, best of luck with your beautiful home.

  • From the first moment on we felt like home. Marie and Nsomeka are great hosts. My boyfriend and I stayed there for five days and we wished we would stay longer. The house is very clean and the room we had was just perfect. Even if you are in their house, you still have plenty of privacy. Although we enjoyed spending time with the two of them. Don't hesitate to book their room you won't regret it.
Many thanks to Marie and Nsomeka.

  • Marie and Nsomeka made our trip immeasurably comfortable and enjoyable. Their residence is beautiful, clean, and has a calming energy. The room we stayed in especially has this energy, and both my boyfriend and I slept more soundly than we have in a long time. Not only was the space lovely, but Marie and Nsomeka were incredibly hospitable. Our first morning there, we were welcomed into the kitchen with fresh coffee and juice at a table overlooking all of San Francisco (the view is incredible!), and Nsomeka offered to make us breakfast. Both Marie and Nsomeka gave us tips and recommendations for places to visit, and we loved all of them. Nsomeka even gave us a ride to Oakland and a little tour of it through her eyes. Marie was very organized and made sure that we had the best possible trip through communicating with us even though she was out of town! Although they were very good at entertaining, they also gave us plenty of privacy and were very respectful of our space. Overall, these two individuals are lovely people with a warm and welcoming home that I would highly recommend to anyone who is kind and genuine themselves. Myself and my boyfriend will definitely be staying here again if we visit San Francisco in the future.
Thank you Marie and Nsomeka!! :)

  • My boyfriend and I stayed with Marie and Nsomeka. Right when we arrived, Marie greeted us at the door with smiles. She gave us a tour and ensured we were comfortable. The bed was like heaven! The shower was stocked with organic shampoo and conditioner which was nice. They provided speakers for music of our choice. Nsomeka currently works at a local bakery so she brought us home goodies for breakfast and homemade pizza for lunch. Marie was very accommodating- helping us with directions around the city. She chatted with us about anything and everything. We loved having (email hidden)!
We ended up having to leave early because of a confusion in flights but they assured us we were allowed back just in case we missed our flights which was more than generous! This was my boyfriends first stay in San Francisco and Marie and Nsomeka made it unforgettable for the both of us :)
