Casa IK ~ Casa Viento ~ is a beautiful European style home with an adjacent bungalow located in Tulum Town, just a 10 minute drive to the beach and ruins, and only a 5 minute ride to Tulum's world famous cenotes ~ Gran Cenote, Cenote Crystal and Cenote Escondido are among the most beautiful and just minutes away from the property!
Casa IK is ideal for families, adventure seekers and friend getaways.
The house and bungalow stand in a 600 square meter property nestled (email hidden) tropical haven ~ the perfect place for a siesta in a hammock and for kids to run around and play! The garden also features a stone fireplace for barbeques and bonfires under Tulum's star filled nights, and plenty of space for storing sports gear.
The property sleeps up to 6 people ~ 4 in the main house and 2 in the bungalow. The main house has an upstairs loft with a double bed and two balconies that allow the cool ocean breeze to flow through. The living area downstairs has a sofa bed that comfortably sleeps 2. The house has one bathroom downstairs with a high pressure shower.
The kitchen is equipped with a spacious fridge, a 4 burner stove and basic kitchenware for guests to prepare their meals, which can be enjoyed in the porch.
The adjacent bungalow has a beautiful thatched palapa roof and wooden floor, a double bed and a small bathroom decorated with river stones, as well as a ceiling fan.
The property has off-street parking for two vehicles in the garden area.
Bikes can be rented in town. They are ideal mean of transportation to get to the beach, to the ruins, to the nearby cenotes and to move around town. Please inquire if you'd like us to assist you in setting up a bike rental with a discounted price for your stay.
The property can be rented entirely, main house + bungalow (max 6 people), or only the main house (max. 4 people). See rate chart for pricing.
Stay in town and enjoy the best of both worlds, the beach and the folklore of Tulum town!
Lovely little house a short walk into town with some cute local fruit and veg stores on the walk from town. Tons of space for relaxing both inside and outside. The patio outside the main house is a particularly nice spot to sit and chill. The bungalow is also very sweet, and it can comfortably sleep 6 (although the 2 in the living room will not (email hidden)).
Downsides are that it is a little dark in the house, it is actually about a 30min cycle ride to the beach (lots of people cycling though) and it can be a bit noisy at night (dogs, cockerels, cars).
Still recommended though :)
PS - Tip: avoid Rincon Pablano restauarnt at the crossroads with the main street. Horrible, rude service, and disgusting food.
super cozy little house, we enjoyed our stay.
Erika is extremely friendly, flexible and accommodating and her handmade house is lovely. Located more on the outskirts of town it was more quiet and rural compared to another place we stayed in downtown Tulum. However, we were there on a Saturday night and the next door neighbor BLASTED music all evening until after 11pm. No way to escape it except for earplugs - not very conducive for relaxation or romantic connection. But Sunday night was quiet. Always a good idea to bring ear plugs to Mexico if you're not used to dogs barking and roosters crowing at all hours.
The house is unique and beautiful, a bit spare but elegantly so. More towels would be helpful. The spiral shower is really fun! Found a massive spider in the bathroom so if you're squeamish about bugs, this may be to rural and open of a house for you. But again, gorgeous house, good location away from downtown and a quick drive to the beach.
Erika was exceptionally accommodating and lovely to deal with and we loved the house. Thank you Erika!
