wonderful host, very helpfull ; you feel at home
the views from the beautiful house are amazing and you are very central city
Mias' place is incredible! The house is comfortable, beautifully decorated, friendly and welcome. The private room and ensuite are spacious and the bed made for a very comfortable sleep. The best part; however, was Mias. He's a friendly, interesting, and welcoming host who is more than happy to tell you all about Cape Town (and South Africa). I had a fantastic dinner with Mias and Andre one night and would have happily stayed with Mias for far longer.
Don't look any further and book this beautiful place. The location is perfectly placed in the most photographed area in Capetown, very stylish and has an amazing host: Mias. Thank you so much for making our stay in Capetown unforgettable! Germans are not very fast in making friendship but staying at yours felt like staying at a friend. All the best! We'll come back.... Definetly!
Very convenient, comfortable and clean. BUT, the noise in the front bedroom from nearby Buitengraght will pretty much guarantee you sleepless nights, with added loudspeaker-enhanced prayers from the local mosque which start at around 4.30am. There are no fans/aircon so you will be sweaty as well as sleepless on hot summer nights. The water pressure to the shower is a pathetic, pissy trickle and if someone else in the house is using their shower, it just dries up.
Mias is friendly and helpful, and you have the benefit of Cape Town's coolest street, Bree St, a stone's throw away. Oh yes, my rental car radio was stolen on the final night even though it was hidden out of sight. But that's par for the Bo-Kaap these days.
My apologies for the negative experience you had with your recent stay. We are always very excited to welcome new guests to our house and have been privileged in meeting the most inspiring people.
The Bo-Kaap as you mentioned if full of urban sounds. Sounds that are so integral to this area and daily orchestrate the beliefs and vibrancy of this rich cultural and historical part of town. We think it is unfair to blame these sounds for sleepless nights. In the past three years and +/- 150 guests that stayed with us no one has ever complained about the call to pray from the mosque and hustle and bustle of the streets.
January and February are generally the hottest months of the year in Cape Town and even for us locals it can be challenge to sleep in this heat. I must apologise for not being proactive and offering you a fan. We have 3 fans in the house, they are normally in the bedrooms but for some reason the cleaning team stored them in the storeroom. We have taken your comments in a serious light and installed roof fans for the bedrooms, to avoid any future discomfort.
With regards to the water pressure; I do agree that it is not the strongest that I have ever experienced in my life. It definitely never dries up, and showering is usually a pleasant experience. We are getting a plumber in, and looking into water conservative shower heads that will improve the flow.
I regret to hear that your rental car radio was stolen on the final night. Your statement that this is on par with the Bo-Kaap is very unfair. Crime is a world problem and not a Bo-Kaap problem. In the past 3 years I had no break-ins into my car. I will be more than happy to reimburse you for the loss that you occurred.
My aim is always to give visitors a glimpse into this amazing city that I can call home. I love the realness and authenticity that airbnb creates with this sharing platform. My house is a normal house just like yours. Sometimes things does go wrong, but we always do everything in our power to rectify any challenge or problem.
