Barbara was a gem of a person, helping out in whichever way she can.She had also furnished the apartment with toiletries and towels to help us get accommodated quickly. The apartment itself is a very old style Italian apartment, giving you the real feel of living in Rome. The apartment is well furnished, although a few more things could be added in the kitchen. It is centrally located with all major tourist spots within walking distance, saving unnecessary taxi costs. The apartment building is also safe and secure as you are the only tenant in the building apart from the owners.
We went Barbara's house as 2 couples. The house was amazing. It is located in the heart of Rome, very convininet to popular places. The house was very clean. Wifi was available but some times we had connection problems in the bedroom. We had no problem when we arrived to reach the house. She was available on the phone when we needed. .when our flight was potponed we needed a place to keep aour luggages and she let us to even to stay in the apartment. She was so kind. Just a quick note about the lady staying in the building and informing us about the apartment rules: I prefer her to be more smiley :)
Lovely apartment! We stayed for four nights with six adults and it was comfortable. There's not really any place to sit and hang out, so one of the bedrooms off of the kitchen served as sort of our living room as well. The location is fantastic, right across from Castel Sant'Angelo and Vatican City. Very beautiful! We had a wonderful stay.
Beautiful apartment! Very well presented and organised. We really enjoyed staying there and so close to great restaurants and interesting shops. It was easy to walk to most landmarks and buses close by for everything else.
Angel's house is terrific, and the hosts are extremely helpful and accomodating. The apartment is located very close to the Castel San'Angelo on a quiet street, but within walking distance to the major bus lines, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, etc.
The apartment is newly renovated, and feels very modern and artistic. There are many nice architectural details that were included in the renovation. The wifi worked great, and the temperature was very well regulated. The floors are heated, too, which is nice in winter.
The apartment is designed to be used either as one large apartment, or two separate apartments that share a kitchen. We had the whole apartment, so it was very comfortable, although when using all the bedrooms there's no real sitting area other than the kitchen unless you want to hang out in the large bedroom on the futon sofa.
The elevator goes right to the apartment. Off of the kitchen area is the main bedroom which has a futon sofa in the bedroom, and a nice bathroom with shower stall, bidet, toilet, and sink. It also has a small kitchenette which we did not use. The main kitchen is small, but fine for 4 people; we used it for breakfasts and hanging out. It was stocked with staples, and plenty of pots, pans, plates, etc.
The other section of the apartment, also off of the kitchen area, contains a small bathroom and alcove area with a built-in twin bed, and a door to the third bedroom. You need to walk through this area to get to the third bedroom which has a queen bed and it's own bath. There's plenty of built-in storage, extra blankets, etc.
While we coordinated our stay with Barbara, we never met her. Rather, her sister Livia who lives upstairs met us on our arrival, set us up in the apartment, and gave us recommendations for restaurants, stores, sights, etc. Her suggestions were great, including the restaurant across the street from the apartment which is run by a friend of hers. We spent 4 nights in the apartment, and had a great time. Note that although there's an elevator up to the apartment, there are about 3-4 steps in the building's entryway that you need to climb to get to the elevator. We felt very safe in the building and the neighborhood, even late at night, and would highly recommend this for other visitors.
The host canceled my reservation 27 days before arrival.
