The place in South Yarra is really spacious and beautifully located close by to the Royal Botanical Garden, offering a nice terrace with a view on CBD. I stayed one month with my friends in the apartment and we really had a good time. Alex is a great host, provided us with lots of information and whenever we needed his help he did not hesitate to make us more comfortable.
I highly recommend this place and would always come back.
Alex was a great host and kept in good contact before and throughout the stay, Alex was most helpful when we arrived - the apartment wasn't ready as we arrived early, but he took our bags and delivered them to the apartment ready for our arrival later in the day. The apartment itself was in a great location - close to both trams and the train and also to Chapel Street. We were there for the tennis and it was a 30 minute door-to-door walk to Rod Laver Arena down the Yarra. We were missing a few amenities but Alex promptly sorted them for us.
Alex was very nice, hospitable and helpful. It was great that he was able able to meet us upon arrival, give us a few maps, and point out some places of interest.
The apartment was as shown and described on the website. It was quite small, but enough for us (a family of 5) to fit for a few nights. And because the apartment gets so much natural light, the size did not really impede our comfort in any way. Our son slept on an air mattress. (there were 3 air mattresses in the closet and we had fill each one to find one that did not leak; this was a bit of a nuisance, but we did eventually find one that didn't leak so all worked out fine). The upstairs deck was lovely and a great place to eat or have a drink - but not very big. Wifi worked fine, except once when we had to press some buttons to get it working again. Note that there is no dryer (only a washing machine).
It was great that the apartment came supplied with salt, pepper, and some vegetable oil, as well laundry detergent - all things that you generally don't want to carry with you for a few nights stay.
The apartment could have been cleaner. The fridge had dried yogurt on two shelves and all down one side of the fridge, which I had to clean before we could put our groceries in. While looking for sheets for the air mattress, we found crumpled and wet pillow cases in the closet. Not a great find. And the closets looked as if they hadn't been tidied in quite a while. There were empty soda bottles under our bed (from previous tenants, I assume). Also, there was no vacuum cleaner (or at least none that we could find) which would have been useful.
The building itself was a bit dated, but it was perfectly fine and very quiet. We were surprised that we didn't hear any of the neighbours, which was a great bonus!
The neighbourhood was great. Food, restaurants, pharmacies, gardens, train station, the Yarra river and trail, and shopping, all within a few blocks, including a small playground around the corner. which was great. The Botanical Gardens at the other end of Domain Rd was lovely and had a cute children's park which our kids enjoyed. We really enjoyed the neighborhood.
Overall, it was a very comfortable stay, and Alex was helpful. If the apartment had been cleaner, it would have been perfect.
Alex is an excellent host and is very well organised in managing the flat.
The flat has a brilliant location and is well equipped and the parking space is definitely a great plus. I would suggest not to bring heavy suitcases as despite being on only the third floor there is no lift and carrying big luggage can put you to a bad start. Overall a great stay that I would recommend
Comfortable apartment in great location just moments from Chapel St and the train station etc. We loved the roof deck from the upstairs bedroom. Some minor issues with Wifi but Alex was a great host and responded very quickly to fix it.
We enjoyed the apartment and the area greatly! We had some issues with the doors and no iPod dock. Other than that it was all thumbs up!
