Dawn & Ave
Dawn was amicable and attentive to my needs during my very brief stay for one night. Everything as expected and would recommend the area and neighborhood to those looking for reasonable priced accommodations in a high priced area.
Dawn was a friendly and gracious host. The room was just as described, clean and had a powerful fan to keep cool. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Dawn's place again
Dawn was very accommodating about accepting my last minute reservation, and was kind enough to connect me with her friend to rent a car after I landed and discovered that the major agencies cars' (enterprise, alamo, etc) were booked for the weekend.
Her neighbour was also extremely welcoming, inviting me to her social events.
The apartment was not the tidiest, having a dog, and possibly because Dawn had not been expecting a guest much in advance. I also did not feel like I got much guidance about eating locally after arriving and setting off on foot without having internet or local phone service once leaving the house.
Overall, it was a laid-back, low-key stay that allowed me to rest from jetlag.
My girlfriend and I both had a wonderful experience staying at Dawns. It's a great location, the bus stop is very close. Its about 5-10 minutes to Waikiki beach! Dawn was a lot of help with directions, and had a lot of suggestions for fun activities. The house was spacious and our room was perfect. Her dog chocolate was the best. I would differently stay there again.
Dawn was very flexible. Her place had all we need!
Close to where we needed to be at a good price.
Before anything else, just a pro tip: look for 1726 Marques street (which is the house you can easily see from the street) and park in front of that house (take parking spot 3 or 4 since those are Dawn's), then walk inside, where the hammock is. That's where Dawn's house is--not easily seen from the street. Apart from that though, Dawn has a nice, comfy house in Honolulu, near the airport and Waikiki beach (but if you have a car, I suggest you drive all over the island as Waikiki is too touristy!). Dawn was very nice and accommodating, and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Her dog Chocolate was also the sweetest! Definitely recommend this place.
Have you ever wondered who lives in all those kind of shabby houses around most big cities? Well, Dawn who is an interesting and creative person lives in one of them. Dawn's house has geat views of Honolulu through some tropical foliage and it is ok for public translort and getting around. A taxi back from the Waikiki bars is not too expensive. Unfortunately my stay was spoilt by me dislocating my shoulder but Dawn cou!ld not have been. more helpful, driving me to hospital. and keeping me company while I waited for treatment.
BTW the Waikiki bars and the dislocated shoulder were unrelated.
everything was great, the appartment is pretty, dawn is an awesome host und chocolate is the sweetest dog ever. thanks for everything, dawn. :)
It is an experience at Dawns room! In fact, it was not the cleanest we had. But Dawn was one of the most interesting hosts! You need to drink a beer with her and get to know her. She's an exceptional nice person with the heart on the right place. Thanks Dawn for all
