Apartment 2 is the upper unit of a two-unit home, offering a cozy stay full of historic character. Accessible by a flight of stairs, it has it’s own private entrance & a bright sunroom with original windows. The full kitchen features an original built-in. Enjoy original hardwood floors, beautiful woodwork & a clawfoot tub perfect for relaxing soaks. Ample closet space, 680 thread-count sheets & blackout blinds. Ideal for guests who appreciate historic charm & a welcoming home away from home.

The space
My place is unique, because it was originally built as a two unit home in 1906. My favorite detail about Apartment 2 is the original clawfoot tub, it’s a wonderful tub for a relaxing soak or a cleansing shower. The original woodwork is all intact and all in original condition, except it’s painted in the bathroom. There’s a beautiful original built-in in the kitchen and hardwood floors throughout. Original windows in the sunroom, while the rest of the home’s windows have been updated. You definitely get the old Grand Rapids feel and vibe. The bathroom is quirky and sweet with newer penny tile, fresh paint, elegant English hardware, gold radiator, and clawfoot tub.

The upper unit and the lower unit each have their own “private entrance”annnd there’s two “off street parking” spots (please note: one spot per unit.) It’s a rare thing to find in Heritage Hill and the surrounding area to have both a “private entrance” AND “off street parking” at one home with two units.

There’s a Roku TV. It has access to Amazon, Netflix and any other app you would use to log-in for watching shows.

The house is close to great restaurants, unique shops, and beautiful historic Heritage Hill homes.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire unit. Make it feel like you live in Grand Rapids for a few days.

Other things to note
This is a second floor unit, only accessible by a flight of stairs.

Quiet time between 10pm-7am.

Standard check-in is at 4:00pm EST or later. Early check-in can sometimes be arranged depending on availability and must be approved by the host in 24hr in advance. Early check-in is not guaranteed but if available, incurs an additional fee of $45 USD.

No shoes on inside the apartment (there’s a place for shoes plus coat hooks in the sunroom).

If you open any windows please close them before leaving. Please be mindful of the windows in the sunroom, not all have screens so we ask you to only open/use the ones with screens. We don't want any bats or critters!! :)

Our lovely historic clawfoot bathtub is wonderful, but only if the shower curtain liner stays put! Please do not move this as it will cause flooding on the bathroom floor.

Old fashion radiant heating throughout, EXCEPT for in the sunroom. Set to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The sunroom is NOT heated, so during cold winter days bundle up with a cozy blanket and a hot cup of coffee!

During the summer months both bedrooms have their own window AC unit.

You’re just around the corner from Heritage Hill, the shops and restaurants on Wealthy St and Cherry St, and Marthas Vineyard (a very cute specialty grocery & beverage store). Our place is centrally located and allows you easy access to downtown with a 1 mile/8 blocks drive (20-30 minute walk), short bus trip, or short Uber/Lyft.
