The Tiny B & B
The Tiny B&B is to be found on the ground floor of one of Kendal’s oldest, and most quirky, houses. This three hundred year old house is situated in Dr Manning’s Yard, famous for looking almost exactly the same as it did when it was built in 1700. One end of the yard brings you out onto Kendal’s main street and the other end is the River Kent and a short walk to Kendal Castle.
If you are looking for a cosy little en suite room moments away from all Kendal has to offer - you have come to the right place!
The tiny room has a very comfortable double bed, small chair and table, TV and DVD player, hairdryer, clock, en suite shower room and WC. There is second room where you can sit and eat.
A miniature fridge, kettle, microwave and toaster is provided as well as cutlery and crockery for breakfast.
Breakfast is a do-it-yourself affair. Tea and coffee, bread, butter, jam, yoghurt and a choice of cereal are provided.
If you do not feel like sampling Kendal’s restaurants then there are a number of takeaways within 5 minutes walk. Crockery is provided for your use.
Wireless broadband is also available for the duration of your stay.
The room has its own separate entrance so you can come and go as you please.
Check in is after 6pm unless we make a prior arrangement and check out is 10am. Arrive, get cosy and enjoy yourself!
I am afraid I no longer accept one person for one night. You are welcome to book for two nights or more or, alternatively, you can pay the price for double occupancy for one night. I am really sorry if this is an inconvenience.
This is an ideal location to explore Kendal and the surrounding area. It is just off the High St and a 5 minute walk from the Brewery Arts Centre or the riverside path. As the descriptions says, the bedroom is small, but there is plenty of space to relax in the living room. Louise was very welcoming. It would be nice to go back in the summertime, to sit on the bench and soak up any sun that Cumbria has to offer.
Small but incredibly charming place to stay, in a great location in the centre of Kendal. Perfect
Superb facilities, including a very friendly cat.
We loved our stay and the recommendations that Louise gave for to eat at, plus a nearby coffee shop that serves its drinks with a miniture Kendal Mint Cake!!!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Tiny B&B, it was a surprise for my girlfriend who loved the cosiness and charm. Was easy to find and Lou was a welcoming host; we popped up to say hi when we arrived and later ate an amazing meal in the restaurant she recommended (Déjà vu). It had everything we needed, including some great homemade jams for breakfast in the morning! Bed was comfy and the whole place was immaculately clean and comfortable. Great location for getting out and about. Would definitely stay again and recommend to single people / couples looking for a lovely place to stay in Kendal.
Lovely place full old character and a great base to explore Kendal from the central location. Louise was helpful in guiding us to the house and finding a parking spot.
If you're a cat lover then you absolutely must stay here, Rosie is an incredible cat; we nearly took her home with us!
If you're looking for a 5* spacious b&b then this isn't for you, but if you want a warm welcome into a charming little house then this is a great find. It's warm, dry, has a comfy bed, a hot shower and lots of tea. What more could you want? Would also recommend dinner at the pub in Stavely (10 min drive), great traditional pub atmosphere and lovely pub grub.
Our stay at The Tiny B and B was delightful. Just as pictured, and even more cosy than we thought it would be. We met Lou upon arrival who was lovely and gave us a very warm welcome! Thrilled to discover the crumpets and delicious home made jam provided for breakfast, as well as tea and coffee making facilities and fresh milk! We had two wonderful nights sleep in an amazingly comfy bed, the tv was easy to work and the bathroom spotless! Location is great too because we were only a minutes walk from the centre of town but once in the yard it felt very peaceful and private which was lovely. Overall we had a brilliant stay in Kendal, I'd love to go back again and I'd definitely recommend the Tiny B and B which just oozes charm. Thanks Lou!
This is a really wonderful place (and I feel I really got to know it as I spent the whole trip inside due to being ill...). It's very cosy, and there's lots of lovely little touches which make it stand out. Perfect location (according to my boyfriend who managed to actually get out and about). 100%.
I am the daughter of a diplomat so have lived all over the world. I have made my home in the Lakes since having children...and love it! I currently manage all the delivery nationally for Brathay Trust - A children's charity based in Ambleside
