Come, enjoy a one-of-a-kind, authentic Moroccan experience. Situated in a small, friendly neighborhood, it is only a 15 minute walk from the Old Medina; we offer a private room in an simple, quaint Moroccan apartment. The windowed-room has a large, round wooden table, an assortment of chaises (lounge like sofa-ware), and a mattress (on the floor). The room locks, and you may come and go as you please.

We are 10-15 minutes from the bus station (same distance to the sea), and this is the place to stay! You are welcome to cook for yourself, or join us for a meal or two. If you stay for four or more nights- we'll prepare you as many diners as you'd like!
My name is Youness. I am new to AirBNB, and glad to be your future host. I was born and raised in Essaouira. I love it here! I speak French, English, and Arabic.
As I know the city front and back, in and out, and I would delighted to answer any questions you might have. Hiking, kitesurfing, windsurfing, camel rides, beach excursions- whatever you need- I can help you find it. I would be happy to show you fabulous the fish market (which is much cheaper than the peer), excellent spice vendors, restaurants, local artisan shops, or even music events/festivals - just make your aspirations known when you're here.
LASTLY, A BIT ABOUT Essaouira:
Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage City, Essaouira is a part of Morocco that you don't want to miss! Given the name of "Mogador" by Portuguese trades, Essaouira and the modern version of the Old Medina were built during the eighteenth century. From the 18th century to the end of the 19th, Essaouira served as Morocco's principal port to the world, supplying the caravan goods and trade to Europe and Asia.
The climate here is amazing; tens of thousands of people come for vacation year round. With broad, sandy harbor beaches, swimming, surfing, and parasailing have become extremely popular. Excursions of all sorts are plentiful and it seems as though your imagination is the limit. Many excellent restaurants offer Moroccan and local specialties. For example:
Savor freshly caught fish- cook it on the grill at home, get it sautéed a street vendor, or have it prepared to your liking at a prominent Essaouira bistro. Cabinet making and 'thuya' wood-carving, and artisan crafts of all kinds- the colors and smells will likely make your heart sing. Take photos among the souks, choose from dozens of types of fresh olives, or delight in a sunset on the harbor. Whatever your adventures may be, the invitation is open, we look forward to seeing you soon!
just had a wonderful holiday - like beeing around with friends ... it was a perfect match everthing - thanks for hosting and some magic times
We stayed one week at Youness' and Kenza's house. They and Layla, a friend, live in the second and third floor of the house. The room and bathroom are on the second, kitchen and a nice roof top terrace on the third floor. The room is very big and clean and we could use the kitchen and washing machine whenever we wanted. Also we parked our car around the corner of the house, which was very safe as guarded.
The house is located in a non-touristic area, which we liked a lot. It's 10 minutes from the old medina and got some small shops, a farmacy and restaurants close by.
Youness is a very nice and helpful person. He is fluent in English and told us a lot about Essaouira and Morocco, showed us the dunes, waterfall and beach in Sidi Kaouki. Kenza loves children and took care of our little girl a couple of times.
Layla is very good cooker and made the best dishes we had while staying in Morocco!
There are no fix prices for dinner they make and babysitting though, so we think its better if you talk about it in advance.
We had a great time with all of them, we recomment staying there, especially to people who want to get to know the authentic moroccoan lifestyle and surfers, as Youness knows the best places to surf.
Youness is an amazing host. I had a wonderful time while in Essaouira, and I can't wait to go back!
Youness is kind, patient, and full of energy. He is always ready to help, and is a great connoisseur of local culture. We often ate together- often at home, but sometime in the Medina, and he knows all the great spots to get delicious local foods. Staying with Youness, I got to see, taste, and experience a whole new side of Morocco. In many ways, I enjoyed the experience more than when I have stayed in nice Riads. It was fun going to the Souks, the fish market, the peer and beach with someone who knows the city. It also helped when buying food and interacting with local merchants. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to surf this time, but we did go for a swim.
The apartment is comfortable, and it was great living the local scene. My room was large, and the bed comfortable. It was great being able to do laundry and cook whenever I wanted. On another note, Youness' English is fantastic, but it was fun to speak French sometimes. I even learned some Arabic while I was there.
Although definitely "cinq étoiles", I highly recommend the place for those who are more interested in culture and experience rather than luxury and presentation.
Best of the best!
Youness is friendly and easy going person, we spent one week at his place. it is not far from medina, and host was really welcoming.
The bedroom at Youness's house is a quiet large room with the bathroom near the door. It is clean simple and convenient. The location is just a few steps from a little local market and basic shops. Communication with Youness was quick and easy. He is a kind interresting guy , easy going ( fluent in english, french) with deep knowlege of all the resources of Essaouira. Helpfull, he known all the best places, beach, diving spot, fishing, kite and windsurfing areas. He invite us for diner with a delicious tajine on the roof terasse with nice world music. He help us to have an insight of the multicultural Essouaira city. We will definitively come back to Youness'house on our back trip.
