Guest Access

Everything but master bed and bath.

Interaction with Guests

I will usually be here when guests arrive but I don't use the common areas much during the week. I have had guests that I have only seen once the whole time they were here. I try to give guests as much privacy as I can. That is, it will probably feel more like a hotel than a true bed and breakfast.

The Neighborhood

In the heart of Chicago but on the 32nd floor so you can get away from it all if you so choose

Getting around

You can find directions from the airport (or anywhere else) using the leading search engine's (it ryhmes with noogle) mapping tool--it has options for public transportation as well as driving, walking, and biking. You can catch a cab outside the front door of the building at any hour and every train line in the city is within three blocks. There is a parking garage attached to the building but it is expensive, around $35/day.

Other Things to Note

Please read the itinerary before arrival. Boring, I know, but it's not *that* long and 95% of the questions I get from guests are on there.

The unit is in a high-rise so if the door person stops you just have them call me and I will have them let you up. If I'm not home I will give you the lockbox code to get the key to the front door.

  • I really like staying at Rob's condo in downtown Chicago. I had to attend a conference at the Hyatt Regency and Rob's place is only about 15 minutes away. The location is an easy walk to the neighborhood's attractions. Rob keeps his condo very clean, and I was able to work and rest quietly. I will definitely stay with Rob again in the future. I will certainly recommend Rob's condo to my friends.

  • Rob has a great apartment, very clean and quite, situated in the middle of everything. He is a great host and I would definitely recommend him and his apartment. Rob is also very considerate about your space. I stayed there for 4 nights and I saw him 3 times, however he seems to be a very pleasant guy and I would't have mind to see him more often :)

  • Rob is an amazing outstanding host, super friendly... You feel right at home as soon as you step in.... He is super cool and fun, he's got great selection of music, and knows Chicago well to even show you around....
He is simply the best AirBNB host you can get:) thanks rob....

  • Immaculate place, extremely quiet. I work downtown and needed a place after events for a few days. Rob is a great host and the building is in an extremely convenient location. Would definitely recommend it and will definitely use it again if I ever need it! Bed is extremely comfortable also! Thanks, Rob!!

  • This was my first time using Airbnb, and I had a very positive experience. The condo was conveniently located, the accommodations were clean and comfortable, and my interactions with Rob were pleasant and straightforward. Highly recommended.

  • Best location! Near train station, Mac Donald's, Hard Rock Cafe, Starbucks, Pizzeria...etc...if you whorls have energy, you don't have to take a train and also Rob is super nice to us!!! Very clean room and beautiful view!!!

    February 2014
  • Rob's place was immaculate, very comfortable, and perfectly located. It was an easy train ride from the the airport to his place; the two or three block walk from the train to his place was pleasant and scenic. The River North neighborhood was loaded with things to do and the financial district ("the loop") starts just one block away, over the river. Both his apartment and the city were very user-friendly due to Rob's thorough guide. Rob is exceptionally communicative, though I only saw him briefly a couple times. On my first night, I stumbled upon an open mic for Jazz and Blues professionals - it was an amazing show and had that warm camaraderie that comes with being snowed-in with good people. I also used the gym in his building a couple times, so was able to easily fit in some fitness. I very much enjoyed my stay and recommend Rob's hosting and his place with highest marks. Thanks, Rob!

About
I love living in Chicago and look forward to letting others experience it as well. As a host you probably won't see me much as I spend most of my time in my room/home office. I'm a bit of a health nut and work out almost every day and cook almost all of my own meals... or at least I eat home-cooked meals made for me. If you want to know anything in particular just ask!
