The Space

Great one bedroom apartment in one of Brooklyn’s most lively neighborhoods. The apartment is on the top floor (4th floor) of an end of 19th century brownstone in the up and coming neighbourhood of Bedford Stuyvesant (its where Jay-Z and Biggie are from.)
It is situated 2 blocks away from the express A train and local C train stops on Nostrand Avenue. 20 minutes to midtown Manhattan.
All windows are south facing, making the apartment a light filled space. There is a skylight in the bathroom, as well as a bathtub.
There is a queen size bed, as well as a queen size inflatable mattress available for extra guests.
The apartment is lived in year round, very well kept and furnished. Photographs bear witness to this.
Internet wifi available.

  • The appartment is very well placed, in a very nice and calm area.
It is perfect for a couple. In my opinion, it is possible for 4 people to live there, if they want to save money, since there is a room, and a separate living-room.
All the facilities are working well, and it is possible to do some cookings (if it is not so complicate).
Luca sent us detailed information, so that we knew all the little tricks in order feel comfortable in the room.
Very nice impression to us (I am french).

  • Thank you Luca for sharing your home with us. The location is perfect, only 1 bridge from the train station so you don't have to carry your luggage up and down too many stairs.
It is very quiet in the apartment with a new kitchen and you are up 1 flight of stairs so my daughter and I felt safe. There is a vaporetta (ferry) stop very close to the apartment along with great restaurants, a fish market in the mornings, fruit stalls and great coffee shops.

  • after our abidance in your apartment we have some points we want let you know.

The position of the apartment was very good. Carnareggio is a nice place of Venice and the connection with the vaporettos was fine. In the night it was mostly quiet. The rooms had been clean.
The address was easy to find and the keys had been there as you told.

It was not a nice welcome to have no warm water after a long journey. A warm shower was not possible, cause it took hours until the boiler had warmed up the water.

There was no possibility for cooking coffee but using this tiny espresso maker, which was not enough for two persons. Allways told to you the whole cooking equipment was very scanty. Too scanty for good cooking.

The TV was not working. The heating was not adequate for warming up the rooms especially because we had to switch off the main clip while leaving the apartment. The result was that the rooms had been always a little bit clammy and our clothes, too. Especially because it was not possible to open the windows in the evening for ventilation. If we have opened a window mosquitos flew directly into the appartment. It would have been nice to (email hidden) at one window. The whole apartment was dark like in a basement. The stairs had been cluttered with old boxes and cans wich made the stairs pretty dangerous. Everything is cobbled with adjustments of what is to do or not to do, but they are mostly in italian.
ll things considered we felt not very welcome in your apartment. And for paying 100€ / day we definitely expected more. For dispensable more money we could have been in a hotel between 3 or 4 stars and with breakfast.

  • Very nice place in Venezia. Very central and in a good area with lots of possibilities.

  • Great place, quiet & beautiful. Hot water and home heating working quite well. We all are pleasured to stay in this flat. Thanks a lot!

  • Luca is a really nice person, he answered every question I had really fast.
The apartement is central, but not loud or touristic.
The information about it was very detailled so there were no problems in finding it or arranging there.
it´s small, but in venice everything is a bit smaller, but still we had no problems living there with 3 people.
it includes everything, a big kitchen and a fan (really important in summer) bed sheets and towels, luxury!
We cooked together in the evenings and sat at the water with a wine and looked over the city! --> it´s 50 meters away from the water and 100 meters away from a vaporetto station, perfect! - and stil familiar and quiet.
There is no wifi, but if you go to the city you get free wifi almost everywhere.
By foot, it´s about 15 minutes to Rialto Bridge.
I have nothing bad to say, we were all very happy living there and i think we rent it again the next biennale

  • Luca's flat is located in a very nice area, the vaporetto ALILAGUNA from the airport stops right in front of his house, and there is Grand Canal round the corner, so it's easy to get everywhere. Santa Lucia 10 minutes to walk, also very helpful.
There's a very nice cafe with tramezzinis just on the left, on the right s amazing kosher venetian restaurant GAMGAM, very good, highly recommended.
It was very easy to get the keys - they were left in a secret place by the cleaning lady.
Concerning the flat itself, it is not a new flat, but quite cozy. You have to understand how to turn on the hot water etc, or ask Luca before you go. We didn't have any problems with hot water.
The only unsatisfying thing was bed linen and towels, it was all very damp.

  • We were a little let down when we arrived at our place in Venice. First off the communication with the host was great before the trip and he made arrangements for the keys to be left for us since we arrived late. He also sent a great map of where to find the keys. Also there was not a problem with the hot water heater anymore, before our trip I asked him about it and he said that it had been replaced and I can say that is true. Now cleanness of the apartment was not what we would have hoped. It just seemed dirty everywhere that we looked. We tried to only sleep there since we didn't like being in the place. The bathroom is MUCH smaller that how it looks in the pictures! There is a shower, sink, toilet, bidet, and washing machine all packed in a tiny little space. The other downside was the lock on the front door. It is very tricky to figure out and when we first got there I was worried we weren't going to get it. It is very close to the train station and a little off the main road so it is quieter, it would have been nice to pay extra to stay in a place we felt was clean.
