About This Listing
This is an amazing 1 Bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor of a brownstone in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. It has a huge kitchen with all sorts of amazing kitchen gadgets for those who would rather cook at home than eat out. We are just blocks away from the famous Brooklyn Fare market which is one of the best gourmet markets in all of NYC. The living room is very large with a fireplace(non-working) and room for an air mattress.(included) The bathroom has an amazing claw foot tube if you need a bubble bath after a long day of enjoying the city. We are a short walk to multiple subway lines that access all of Brooklyn as well as the east and west sides of Manhattan. There is too much to list that is in walking distance-restaurants, bars, laundry, Prospect Park, Park Slope, Cobble Hill, Barclays Center etc. We can provide a bike if you would like to explore Brooklyn on two wheels.
Rented apartment for a week with my husband, four month old and mother.
Very comfortable space, clean, tall ceilings, 1860's charm.
Large kitchen: Nespresso, french press, all the appliances for cooking and storing food, excellent space for my family to gather with plenty of seating, large windows that overlook natural area in back.
Large living room: Apple TV, big flat screen with Hulu and Netflix, comfortable sectional sofa (my mom opted to sleep on the sofa rather then air mattress), dining room table, large windows facing street.
Large bathroom: claw foot tub, plenty of hot water, beautiful tile, shampoo and soap available.
Bedroom: Soft sheets, comfortable queen size bed, closing door, tall window facing street.
Hosts: kind and responsive
Neighborhood: restaurant on corner with great pie, two blocks from Smith St with TONS of food and shopping, two blocks from Atlantic St. more food and shopping, abundance of laundromats in the area, two blocks from subway stops to Manhattan, lots of families, quiet street.
Old building with quirks, narrow uneven staircase to unit
Bedroom: very small just big enough for the bed, the head of the bed is against a wall with a permanently closed door to the hallway outside the unit which allows some noise from the hall. There is not headboard on the bed so sitting up in bed is not really an option. This would not have been a problem at all but I'm currently nursing a baby and needed a place to sit up in the middle of the night.
I will definitely check with Jen next time I'm visiting NYC to see if her home is available for rent. :)
