We very much appreciated the a/c. The apartment was consistently cooler than most anywhere else in Rome during our visit--which was essential. Temperatures consistently hovered about 100/40 degrees. As noted by other reviewers, the bedroom was in a lower level, making it more humid, but also helping to keep it cool.
The location is very good--a short walk (maybe 2 blocks) to the restaurant area of Trastevere and up some stairs/across the street to the river bank. The internet was strong, sofa comfortable, and dishes and fridge in the kitchen. Its not large, but spacious for one would typically get for the price in Rome (meets the price point for "value for money). Basic provisions/amenities were left (coffee, sugar, soap, etc.). Stefano, the person who met us, also provided a complimentary large bottle of prosecco--which was very nice. Stefano was very helpful and very nice. He met us for our late arrival (around 830pm).
Unfortunately the washing machine was not functional (that should be changed), which was one of the filters we used to choose the location. However Stefano took our clothes to be washed the next morning (Nevertheless that was not ideal. We had anticipated having a washing machine--we were traveling with our teenage son).
The water heater was a problem, even with the hot weather: It did not consistently heat the water. Stefano came to check and made it work while he was there, but it needs to be resolved. We were 3 people staying for 3 nights/4 days. With the heat, we each took one shower the day of arrival/departure and two the other full days--or 6 showers multiplied by 3 people=18 showers. Of that total 6 were hot, 2 were warm, and 10 were very, very cold. In the case where we actually had a hot shower, we would rush in, one after the other, so we could get the hot shower (because turned off, it likely wouldn't be hot again).
The house was comfortable, though there are some other small maintenance issues. However the location was good and it was generally comfortable.
Stefano was very welcoming and responded quickly to communications to organise check-in time.
The flat was lovely, perfect for a couple, family or four friends to stay in. The beds and sofas were very comfortable and the flat was clean. The air-con was a particularly useful feature for Rome's burning hot summer.
Trastevere was a lovely area to stay in with plenty of choice for wining and dining whilst also being walking distance from Rome's historic centre and the Vatican.
I will definitely stay here next time I visit Rome. Grazie per tutto Stefano!
The apartment is well located and big enough for two people. Stefano's was very kind and helpful with us. Be aware that the bedroom is in the basement, so it's humid. Overall, we had a great stay at Stefano's place.
The flat was beautifully located between quaint and bustling trastevere and the main sights of Rome. Crossing the Tiber and a ten minute walk takes you to the main streets of Rome - it is a little bit further (about 25 minutes walk) to the coliseum but the walk is along the shady river path and takes in some lovely sights along the way. The flat itself was a haven from baking hot Rome, and decorated in beautiful taste. The kitchen was perhaps a little small for anything other than a light meal, but with so many restaurants within five minutes walk, I don't think it was that much of an issue. Stefano and Angelo were very kind and even did our washing for us in their office next door. Thank you for a lovely stay in Rome!
Stefanos apartment was perfect for me and my husband. I would recommend taking a taxi from Termini. The bus was very crowded and we had to walk a bit to find the apartment. Stefano was very prompt in responding to questions we had. The place was easy to walk to all the sights. Best spot in trastavere! Not too close to the bar/restaurant noise but close enough to enjoy!
Stefano's place was great! It was in an excellent location in Trastevere, just a few minutes of walking from excellent restaurants and pubs. It is also only about a 15 minute walk to the Vatican, and about 30 minutes walk to the Colosseum and ancient Rome. We were met by another gentleman who showed us around the apartment and offered some tips on local restaurants.
The apartment was nice and clean aside from mold in the bathroom, to which we were allergic. The bed is a little on the hard side but certainly comfortable. Kitchen was equipped well enough to make small meals and included coffee. There were plenty of tourist books available as well to guide you throughout the city.
Stefano was a great host. He made us feel very comfortable and has a relaxed attitude. His office is next door to the apartment, which made it very convenient to talk to him if needed. The location of the apartment was excellent. Such a great area, and felt very safe. Stefano was kind enough to take care of our laundry for us too!
