The Coach House is a meticulously renovated 18th century stable block nestled in the spectacular valley of the River Nore, one mile away from the beautiful village of Inistioge. The property is registered with Failte Ireland and has been awarded 4 stars. It is in a private & secluded courtyard setting, but with close access to plenty of local facilities in nearby Thomastown (3m) and Kilkenny (12m).
The property itself has been lovingly restored to the highest specifications with hand-crafted oak woodwork and natural stone throughout. Clean, light and spacious, it sleeps 8-10 people in two king-sized double bedrooms, a twin and a master bedroom with king-sized bed, an en suite bathroom and a balcony overlooking the valley.
An extensively equipped kitchen, including a broad range of herbs and spices, opens out onto a breakfast patio which overlooks the private garden. There is a downstairs shower room, a utility room with a washer and drier, and a large conservatory that leads to the two vaulted downstairs bedrooms. Upstairs, the comfortably furnished sitting room has a wood burning stove and a selection of DVDs and Cds as well as satellite television and WIFI. All duvets, bed clothes and towels are inclusive, as are firewood and oil.
The local village of Inistioge is a delightfullly picturesque setting on the bank of the Nore with a number of traditional pubs, cafés and restaurants. It is the perfect location for hikes and country walks, especially in the grounds of the dazzling Woodstock Estate gardens. Nearby Thomastown has an international reputation for its arts and crafts, boasting a variety of studios and workshops to visit, galleries and exhibitions, an artisan chocolatier, cafés and numerous pubs where one can unwind with a pint and some live music. There are no less than four golf courses within 5-10 mile radius including the famous Mount Juliet Hotel where one can indulge in a spot of horse riding or fly fishing.
Peace waited for us for 2 hours, (so sorry Pearce!) we were lost, but he didn't give up and actually found us getting lost in the village and led us to the house. The first impression was way above our expectations!
He even left the fire lighting in the living room, which made it extra nice.
The house is AMAZING, we were 6 people staying there, for going through a work retreat. the details, the fire place, the beds, the kitchen and the area, cute dogs, and just a fab atmosphere. Highly recommend it to anyone.
We hope to be back soon!
My Wife and her friends stayed at Martins place for a weekend break in February. They couldn't speak highly enough of the Coach House, the Hospitality and the Location. Martin and his niece Claire were very easy to communicate with and gave clear directions to the location. Highly recommended!
We spent Christmas in Martin's Coach House and it was the best decision we've made in years. The place is simply fantastic! Martin has spared no expense in making this one of the most comfortable says I've had in a long time. The interiors are superb, with great attention to detail, we didn't want for anything! Martin is an excellent host and made us feel very welcome and ensured that we had everything we needed. We will be most definitely be back!
We stayed in The Coach House for the weekend and it was absolutely fantastic - the quality of the renovation is wonderful, great attention to detail, extremely well stocked cupboards, comfy beds - just the most perfect place to stay.
Martin you were a great host - thank you and we will be back sometime next year.

Martin's Coach House was an absolutely fantastic start to our Ireland trip! The house is beautiful and comfortable, and the whole family appreciated having their own lovely rooms. Martin was very helpful and friendly, and as pet owners we also appreciated his sweet pups. The only negative is that we were SPOILED for the rest of our trip! How could a hotel room in Dublin measure up to the beautiful Coach House? We give the highest recommendation.
Couldn't ask for a better place to stay. Beautiful setting, friendly dogs. Martin and Claire are wonderful host/hostess. Arriving to fresh flowers, bread, butter and milk was a welcome surprise. If we ever head back to Ireland this will be one of the first places we visit. Larry and Charlotte. Maple Ridge BC Canada
Had an amazing stay at the Coach House. Both Martin and his beautifully converted barn were great hosts and we were all very sad to leave. Martin is a great host, full of useful advice on the local area and has a few good stories to tell. Thanks a lot Martin - we loved our stay!
We're here to enjoy, live for today. I have travelled the planet myself and i find most people are really nice. I enjoy new people, new experiences, new ideas.
Change is the only constant, i don't have one concept that I'm not prepared to let go
