The Space

Quiet and homely with private large terrace, just a few hundred yards from famous Spanish Steps.
Newly Restored (December 2012) entire apartment.
Brand new kitchen, bathroom and furniture.
Air conditioning and heating in every room.
You will love having lunch or dinner on the table in the amazingly quiet private terrace.
You will be surprised by the quietness of the apartment, an oasis (email hidden)ly area of the center of Rome.
The apartment is made by a room with a brand new large double bed, a living room with a brand new double sofa bed, a small kitchen part of the living-room a brand new bathroom.
The large terrace is perfect for relaxing or having a nice meal outdoors.
We offer a free, but slow Wi-fi Internet connection. Good for email, web browsing, (website hidden), (website hidden) and chat but not fast enough for Videos, (website hidden) video conversations or streaming.
The apartment is located in the best and fanciest part of the center of Rome, 5 minutes walking distance from Rome's nicest shops like Prada or Gucci.
The central Spanish Steps Metro station is also at five minutes walking distance.
There is a small Carefour supermarket in Via Vittoria, four blocks away from the apartment.
A few blocks away from the apartment you will find Villa Borghese, a large, green historic park scattered with ancient statues and century old trees. The park is a big plus for families with children, for sport lovers and for romantic walks...

The Neighborhood

The area between Piazza del Popolo and The Spanish Steps is the nicest and most exclusive in Rome. A fuew hundred yards from the apartment you'll find Gucci, Prada, Bulgari. • Giacomo was the perfect host. He arranged transfers from airport for us, met us at the apartment, and gave us excellent advice on local eateries and places to visit. Apartment is exactly as described, very neat, clean and tidy. The location is wonderful, very close to Spanish steps and Trevi and next door to Piazza del Popolo. Our family of four had a lovely stay in this 400 year old apartment and would happily stay again.

  • Great location, very walkable to The Borghese Gardens and Spanish Steps. Plus the lovely bonus of strolling Via Corso in the evening. Close to grocery store, laundromat and good restaurants. Stayed here for one week in late May and was sad to leave. Quiet, clean apartment with terrace for morning coffee or afternoon aperitif. Giacomo was an exceptional host, providing us with information on the neighborhood and showing extraordinary devotion to correcting some minor issues we had on our arrival.

  • What can we say about our experience with Giacomo and the apartment?! It was an amazing stay and the perfect end to our holiday.

Giacomo was kind enough to organise a private car to pick us up from the airport, which if you are not sure about whether it is worth spending the money on, it absolutely is! Rome airport is hectic and there is nothing better than not to have to worry about getting into the city when you have been travelling. You are even greeted by a driver holding a card with your name on it which is a great novelty!

The car service took us straight to the apartment where Giacomo was waiting to greet us, and even surprised us with a bottle of champagne! He showed us through the apartment and we were fortunate enough to get some fantastic recommendations of what to see (and not see!), where to eat and gave us some very interesting information on the history of the city. We also enjoyed catching up with him for an 'aperitivo' one night. We could not have asked for a better host and hope to keep in touch with him.

The apartment itself was in an absolutely perfect location for sightseeing and takes anywhere between 2 minutes and 25 minutes to walk to any of the famous sights. The apartment contained all the things you would need (including a coffee maker and coffee - we enjoyed Giacomo teaching us how to make coffee the Italian way which we have since mastered and started to do at home!). The absolute favourite part was the terrace. Eating a pastry from the coffee downstairs and our home made coffee was one of the highlights.

The only bad thing was that we did not get to stay longer. We have thrown a couple of coins into the Trevi Fountain to make sure that we come back soon!!

  • Great place to stay in Rome. Good location. Clean and neat. Great to have separate bedroom and terrace is a nice quiet little spot. Downsides are that shower is overly small, there is no washing machine and local laundry ("lavanderia") is a rip off and does a really bad job. Giacomo is a good host and goes out of his way to help where needed.

  • The apartment is very clean and has the basic necessities for guests including a small kitchen area for light cooking. Giacomo had bread for us as well, which was a welcome breakfast and snack for us. The location is very quiet, clean and safe, even when walking around in the evening and there are many lovely shops and restaurants in close walking distance.

For guests who are driving, Giacomo kindly covers the daily parking fee at a safe underground parking lot by the Spanish Steps/Spagna metro station. That was a very big convenience for us.

The bathroom is modern although the small shower may be a little awkward for people who are bigger. The only other issue we encountered was the upstairs neighbors were very loud and we could hear a lo of their stomping around, talking and kids running up and down the stairs and screaming/playing together. If you are sensitive to noise or a light sleeper, just bring some earplugs!

Giacomo was very generous as a host. We arrived late due to heavy traffic and were in danger of missing a scheduled Ancient Rome tour. We mentioned this in passing to Giacomo and without a hesitation, he offered to drive us directly to the meeting point which got us to just in the nick of time and we were able to enjoy one of the most memorable tours in Rome. We're forever grateful for him helping us out. Thanks so much, Giacomo, we loved visiting your city!

  • We loved our stay at Giocomo's apartment in Rome. It is just as pictured, very clean, and has all that you need for your Roman holiday. The patio is a big plus, too. The location is incredible. You are close to two Metro stops (Spanish Steps and Piazza del Popolo), but you can also walk to most of the major sights. Giacomo is a fabulous host, full of information about restaurants, walks, and anything else you want to know.

Man sover godt i behagelige senge.

  • Once again (2nd time in this apartment) Giacomo was the perfect host with his friendliness and an apartment with a hard-to-beat location. The weather wasn't typically Roman, so we only got to enjoy the wonderful terrace once. But we can hardly blame Giacomo for the weather...:)
