Paul and Anya's place was just as it was the last time I stayed with them- clean, organized, quiet and convenient as always.
Paul was gracious as always despite the fact that he was under the weather.
I highly recommend their place for other guests considering staying in East Village.
I had a great experience staying with Paul and Anya! Both were helpful, welcoming, flexible and friendly! The space was excellent and resembled the posting - it was very clean, safe, and comfortable. The neighbourhood was great also - lots to do, see and eat! I would absolutely stay with Paul and Anya again!
Great location. Good friendly hosts. Warmly recommended. Chris
I would definitely recommend this place! It's clean and quiet but at the same time it offers all the perks of one of NYC's best neighborhoods with countless bars and restaurants. The location is its biggest selling point but its hosts are just as great. I didn't really have a chance to talk to Anya but Paul was very kind and helpful. He's a great guy!
Paule et Anya sont charmants.
Oui tout à fait.
Le quartier est formidable.
We loved staying with Paul & Anya. They are very sweet, accommodating, and knowledgeable. They keep the apartment clean and are clearly mindful of their guests. They even added an AC unit in our room while we were with them, as the city was heating up. We never felt "in the way" or "out of place." The neighborhood is perfect and very walkable. There's enough reason to stay in it, but access to the Astor Pl and 8th St/NYU subway is just a few minutes away by foot. We would definitely stay with them again in the future--and probably will.
Paul and Anya are recommended hosts. Their place is well located in the east village on a great block - very convenient. The room was very comfortable and had everything you need. The apt is well equipped and very clean. Paul and Anya were very flexible and helpful. I had a great stay. Thanks again.
Paul and Anya are a lovely couple; in particular, Paul -who we met more frequently- is a very nice, warm and helpful host. The flat is what we expected, clean, comfortable and quiet. The neighborhood is fantastic!
We ´d like to highlight that Paul woke up at 6am to help us to carry our luggage downstairs! Thanks a lot!
We had a wonderful time and we´d definitely recomend staying at Paul´s place.
We had a fantastic stay with Paul and Anya. They are both very friendly and welcoming people. Their apartment is the cleanest home we've ever been in with everything being spotless and also well decorated and homely.
The location truly can't be beat !!! This is our 2nd time in NYC and our 2nd time in the East Village so we knew when booking this apartment how fabulous the location was and specifically booked it for that reason. This is the real NYC and guests can experience what its like to live in both a real NYC apartment and neighborhood. The East Village is full of amazing cafes, restaurants, bars and shops across all price ranges and tastes. Its foody heaven!! Just look at any NYC food blog and you'll soon realise that all of the top foody spots are in this area.
The location of this apartment on E9th is particularly great as the best eating/drinking streets run between E6th and E11th so you're right in the middle of everything with the added advantage that this particular stretch of E9th is quieter than other sections of the East Village as there are no noisy bars right outside.
The bedroom is also particularly quiet for the East Village as you are 3 floors up and facing the rear of the block away from street noise. This is a massive plus and very hard to come across in this area. We couldn't hear any street noise at all and hence slept very well.
All of the major tourist sites can be easily accessed via the subway at Astor Place which is a few minutes walk away or alternatively from Union Square which is a major subway hub/interchange and only a ten minute walk away. It only takes around 10 minutes on the subway to get to Times Square and Midtown from here.
This is also a great location for getting to Brooklyn on the subway or by walking accross the Williamsburg Bridge. The East River Park which has amazing views of all the Midtown/Uptown skyscrapers is also only a ten minute walk away. You can walk to the start of Greenwhich Village and the Lower East Side from here in around ten minutes. These areas are both also fantastic for eating/drinking/shopping.
Do yoursef a favour and avoid the tourist trap of staying near times square and stay here instead on the coolest NYC Block!!!
