Augusto's apartment is fantastic. Placement couldn't better, there's WiFi, towels, linen and the place is in very good condition.
The place is perfect for a group of friends or a family. We were 3, but you can easily be more.
The sofas in the living room can both be used as beds if you flip down the back rest, so there is actually 3 bedrooms.
Just across the street there is a small supermarket with everything you need.
Augusto was a generous host, easy communication and we will use his place again.
I had a fantastic stay at Augusto's apartment! You cannot ask for a better location. It's right by the colosseum, and incredibly close to the colosseum metro stop which makes it convenient to get to Termini or anywhere else along the metro line. It's great for solo travelers too because it's in a nice well lit and populated area. I would definitely stay here again on another trip to Rome. There's a washer and outside clothes line which was also very convenient.
We spent six nights in Augusto's apartment and enjoyed it very much. Our main interest in going to Rome was to visit the ancient Roman sites so staying in an apartment a stone's throw from the Colosseum and Forum was great. The metro station is only two blocks away and tram and bus stops are even closer. It was very handy for us that a little Carre supermarket sits right across the street (as does a gelateria that is open late). The apartment itself was spacious and comfortable. As other reviewers have noted, the market's delivery trucks and the garbage trucks on the street can make an early morning racket but it didn't bother us. I look forward to staying in Augusto's apartment again in the future!
In general, everything was great. Augusto was really nice and spoke perfect English. We got in later than expected and he didn't make a big deal about us being late, even though he was left waiting for us for over an hour. He also made it easy on the way out of the apartment and met us early because we had a 6:30am flight. The apartment is exactly as it looks on the website. Everything worked. Wi-Fi was really strong in the living room area. Location is perfect. We didn't even buy a metro pass because we walked everywhere. Only thing not great was that the bedroom is in the room closest to the street and it can be pretty loud outside. We got used to it and slept better each night we were there. Took a little getting used to the first night, especially in a new place for the first time. Would definitely go back.
Augusto has a very clean and spacious apartment with views to the Collosseo as per the pictures. He was very gracious when we arrived, even assisting with the luggage.
The apartment is great. It is within easy walk to the Metro, has a supermarket, cafe and restaurants within 20 metres walk. A fabulous location. The only problem is sleeping in the front room as the noise starts from about 7am with the supermarket loading goods and the garbage bins being emptied. However, you can sleep in the room in the centre if the noise is too much.
In the end we enjoyed our stay and were very happy relaxing in the apartment.
I just stayed in Augusto's apartment for 1 week together with my mother. Augusto made us feel welcome with a bottle of wine and candy. The apartment fully lives up to the description and pictures.
The location is perfect next to Colosseum, Forum and Palatine Hill. And even though my mother is 69 years old, we were able to walk to all of the other sites of interest - Saint Peters Cathedral, Pantheon, The Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain etc.
I can only recommend this apartment and will for sure book it again, if I come back to Rome.
Augusto's apartment is exactly as described. Opposite the Colosseo. As another reviewer mentioned, the pictures do not do justice to the place. It is large, and even 4 (or 5) people can stay very comfortably without being on each other's toes (a double bed in the bedroom and a pullout bed in work/living space). Augusto was waiting when I arrived, helped me with my heavy luggage, and left a bottle of wine, water, and iced tea in the fridge. The apt. was clean and smelt very nice as well. It is also well-insulated (thick walls) - there is an AC in the living room if you do need it - and you can do without AC even in mid/late August if you leave the windows open. Carrefour which is open late (10 pm?) is less than 10 steps away from the apt entrance. Since the apt. (including kitchen) is thoughtfully furnished, you can make your own meals if you want to after shopping the local markets for fresh food.
There is some noise in the mornings (6/7 am) when garbage is collected from the bins outside but it did not disturb my sleep/wake me up. I only noticed it on days I was already awake. That being said, if you are a light sleeper, that might be something to consider.
Augusto is also very friendly, helpful and easily reachable over phone/email. He gave me recommendations for places to shop and eat, and even brought me converters on another morning for my US and Indian appliance plugs, making a special trip when he was in the city.
I won't comment on entertainment/tourist options since I primarily used the apartment as a base for work at FAO. But you can see that Trastevere/Testaccio is very close on the map.
Not sure what else to add. Overall, a wonderful and warm experience and I would not hesitate to recommend Augusto and his apartment to anyone.
We had a great stay at Augusto's apartment. It is fully equipped, and comfortable. The location is great; just cross one street and you're at the colosseum. It can be a bit noisy on Friday and Saturday nights, but I had no problem sleeping. Definitely recommended.
Augusto was the perfect host. The apartment was clean and rather spacious. The pictures he uploaded do not do his place justice. More importantly, Augusto was flexible with both our late arrival and early departure from his apartment. He was also always available either by cell phone or e-mail to answer any questions or issues we had. The candy and bottle of wine that he left at the apartment as a welcome gesture were nice touches. I would highly recommend that you consider Augusto's place if you're looking for the best place to stay in Rome.
Augusto is very nice guy and he has very nice flat. The flat is very big, has many comfortable sleep places, not only bad, sofas are very comfortable for sleeping. The flat is very clean. Everything we need we find in the flat. Especially we liked location! It is great! Colosseo is in a few steps from the house. You can really see it in the window! Metro station is 2 minutes for a walk, also busstation. Grocery store and cafe is across the house.
I wholeheartedly recommend you to stay in Augusto's flat.
