Right at Home in Ravenna

House - Private room · 20th Avenue Northeast, Seattle, WA 98115, United States

The Space

I recently bought a beautiful home, and I have an empty bedroom that is pretty lonely. I would love to have someone else's energy to fill the space.

The room is in a daylight basement, which offers plenty of privacy There is a queen bed, closet, bookshelf, and dresser

You would have your own bathroom (think swanky hotel).
You are welcome to use the kitchen, and join me for meals. (The effort of cooking always seems more worthwhile when it can be shared).

The house is located in the wonderful neighborhood of Ravenna. Just blocks from Ravenna park, and less than a mile from Greenlake Park. The house is close major bus lines and bike routes. You are in walking distance to Wholefoods, PCC Natural Market, as well as cafes, restaurants and University Village.
An adorable bookshop, cafe and bar know as Third Place books and The Pub at Third Placeis just blocks away.

I have two cats that spend their time both in and outdoors. They keep to themselves, but they are suckers for a treat or some love.

I am happy to offer you breakfast, please let me know prior to check in so that I can plan for this.

Check In
  • Very calm and clean place with a lot of space and privacy. Very nice bed and cute cats. The neigborhood is very quite and the nearby bookshop really good. Thanks again.

  • Perfect for my visit to the University of Washington. Easy access to the University District or downtown Seattle by bus. Tara was very accommodating with my Thanksgiving evening check-in. The bed is comfortable and the shower is definitely a unique (good) adventure! I would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Seattle.

  • Tara is a perfect host. Her home is beautiful. The cats are little airbnb guests too that visit you. The shower is like operating a submarine but once you get it going, it's amazing. I think she could just airbnb the shower alone and make a killing. Everything was perfect! Absolutely perfect!

  • Tara was really nice, the space was clean and quiet, it was really nice having my own bathroom, and check-in and out was easy. Thanks Tara :)

  • My experience at Tara's place is amazing. I Stayed at Tara's for more than a month and felt like I was staying in my own house. She thought of every little thing I could need and provided it. I had a large lovely bedroom, my own living room and a bathroom with incredible shower. Tara took me to the grocery stores, Farmers market and even to a Mac store (when I needed to buy a phone). She cooked a delicious meal for me once. She also lets you cook for her (I got to experiment with my newly learnt cooking). Both Tara and John are lovely hosts and a great company. They made my transition into Seattle city really smooth. I could focus entirely on my work from the day one with no tension of accommodation related issues at the back of my mind. Cats Mishi and Vela are wholly adorable and well behaved. Overall I had luxurious time staying at Tara's home. I would certainly recommend staying at Tara's place if you are visiting Seattle!!!!!!!
Tara, Thanks for making my stay so wonderful. I couldn't have wished for a better one.

  • I loved staying here! The bed was comfortable, the shower was incredible, and the neighborhood was beautiful! Tara was an amazing hostess and helped me out a lot. I would probably be lost in Seattle trying to find a few places if it wasn't for her. The neighborhood also has a few nice pubs around the area, a bunch of neat shops, close to scenic views and easy to get to downtown. I'll definitely be staying here again if I can!

  • The setting was just lovely, and Tara's home artistically designed; a relaxing and nicely landscaped back yard greeted me along with a couple of friendly cats. When I inquired about a last minute change to my reservation she was very accommodating and the bed was VERY comfortable. Unfortunately, the cat box next to the bedroom was much too pungent and detracted from the otherwise delightful stay....

  • Great room, fabulous bathroom, the only downside was a mix- up about breakfast being included. The website said it was, but apparently it was not.

  • Tara was extremely flexible with check-in and check-out which really helped us out! Bedroom is clean, comfortable and bright with two windows. Neighbourhood is lovely and quiet. Down the street is a nice cafe within a bookstore, if you need an early morning breakfast they open at 8am. We drove into downtown Seattle at 8:30am on a Sunday and it only took 15 minutes to get to the Pike Place Market.

  • We stayed at Tara's place for 1 night as we made our way through Seattle. It was an easy place to find with parking out front, in a quiet neighborhood. Although I only saw Tara briefly, she made us feel welcomed, and we would totally stay there again.

I am a working professional, yet I forget that I am an adult. Most days I still feel like an innocent child, just wanting to laugh and play my day away. I consider myself to be adventuresome and curious. I think the city in which I live is one of the most remarkable places. So many ways to connect with nature. I can ride my bike pretty much anywhere. Each neighborhood as it's own quirky vibe, and amazing food. Over the years I have travelled as far as New Zealand, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Peru, Ireland, Slovenia and Croatia. Next stop? India and Paris!!
