Interaction with guests

Martha & I are happy to answer any questions and point guests in the right direction depending on what you want to do during your stay. I teach upstate during the week, but I am always reachable via text or phone call. My housemate works just 2 subway stops away and is also available if guests need anything during their stay.

Other things to note

As in most of the NYC, there is often construction in Long Island City. We leave fresh earplugs by the bed should you need them during your stay.

We never had the chance to meet Elaine but she was always prompt and helpful in her communications and her roommate Martha, who we did meet, was absolutely wonderful. Their apartment is the perfect place for a stay in New York and is a very quick subway stop over from Manhattan. Furthermore, Long Island City is a lively area that is rapidly expanding and has great restaurants. Would recommend this apartment to anyone.

This was our first AirBnB experience and staying here made it an absolutely great experience. Our hosts were great and so very accommodating throughout our stay. A charming place to stay in with a very comfortable bed and awesome hosts... What more could you want? :]

Elaine's place was at a great location for a tourist in NYC, next to the subway lines. I was constantly going further out to queens or to Manhattan daily so it was convenient. We found the room and bed pretty comfy and cozy. The only complaint I have is the construction noise, which started early at 7AM on weekdays, that occured during our stay. We had spent a little more on Elaine's place than another location that stated there was construction noise, and coming from the west coast and jetlagged, the noise was a little annoying at that time, and would have been nice if it was disclosed ahead of time. Other than that the place was great. We didn't spent too much time there aside from sleeping.

Response from Elaine:
I'm glad you found the room comfortable and the location convenient. I'm so sorry you had the misfortune of being there during that construction, I know how annoying that can be. Long Island City and NYC in general has been overwhelmed by construction lately (more than usual this year it seems), and you never know what they're going to be doing when. I hadn't experienced the same noise when I stayed in the room the previous week. It's always a crapshoot in this city! Hope you still enjoyed your time in the city!

This was our first airbnb stay for my wife and I. We would stay here again when visiting NYC. The location is close to several subway stops. Within a few blocks of places to eat. Everything was as advertised, and Laini's communication was good. No issues and we had a great visit to NYC.

Great Airbnb spot! The location is great: five minute walk to the subway--one stop from Manhattan. Easy to get everywhere from there. Excellent communication about everything--and the apartment is really nice. One bonus is that there is an excellent coffee/tea/restaurant just across the street and up a few doors. Would recommend!
