You will be sharing the apartment with me, a 30-year old painter and art teacher. I have a separate studio nearby, where I am most often when not teaching or at my day-job in midtown, so you end up having a lot of privacy in the apartment.

Interaction with Guests
I'm happy to answer any questions and point guests in the right direction depending on what you want to do during your stay. However, I often return from my painting studio late at night so have fairly infrequent interaction with my guests. I am almost always just a few blocks and/or a phone call away!
LIC is still a hidden gem in NYC. It is very quiet, safe, and low-key, yet just 5 minutes away from Manhattan. And we get beautiful skyline views from most of the neighborhood!
1st stop in Queens on the E/M/7/G trains!
Since I live in an apartment building I just ask that you are respectful of neighbors, keep noise to a reasonable level, and try not to walk around with loud shoes in the house.
Guests staying longer than 2 weeks will be asked to launder their own towels and sheets when necessary.
This was a truly great experience. Elaine is an excellent host and makes the extra effort to make certain you are comfortable with the apartment as well as the local area. The place itself is exactly as described and close to many trains for easy travel.
We stayed 5 days in her place for NYE. The room was very clean and cosy and full of nice art works. Elaine was a great host. She wrote down some suggestions for nice restaurants, bars and cafes around her apartment. The location of the apartment was good, too. The closest subway was only 5 min walk and just a few stops to Manhattan. We would like to stay at her place again if we have a chance to come back to NYC!!
My mom and I stayed at Laini's place during ten days. The experience was great. The house is super cozy and clean. It is also in a good location, near to Manhattan and Brooklyn, but in a quiet neighborhood. There are three subway lines near the apartment. Laini was a great host, helping us and giving a lot of good information about the city. If you wish to stay in NYC, Laini's home is a amazing deal.
My sister and I stayed with Laini for 4 days, and we couldn't have asked for a better Airbnb experience. Laini is a a great host, a talented artist and all in all an extremely kind person. She made sure we had everything we needed and provided us a list of cool things to do and see nearby. The bathroom and kitchen were clean and the apartment in itself was cozy and inviting. Her place is conveniently located between subway stops towards Manhattan and Brooklyn, but there is also plenty to see in Queens. We would definitely stay with her again next time we are in New York.
My parents stayed here and had a wonderful time. She was a great host, covering all corners of coordination (giving a heads up, making sure things are okay during her absence, etc.).
Our 8 night stay at Laini's place was a wonderful experience. New York is magical as it is but Laini's place is cosy, comfortable and clean. Some of the artwork around the house also added to the cosiness I've mentioned previously. Not to mention the easy access to three different subway lines in just a few minutes walk. Laini was away for nearly half of our time there, but during the brief times we were indeed under the same roof, she came across friendly and respecful to our space. She was even kind enough to share her favourite places around with tips (not "the" favourite places that everyone can find with yelp) and a guideline for tipping in NYC (which is more helpful than you can imagine). LIC is a nice, quiet neighborhood which has couple of cool places but also feels safe at night times. Me and my fiancee never felt uneasy at any point, which is saying something in NYC. All in all, I would certainly recommend her place to stay if you're in town!
Laini was an amazing host! The apartment is amazing, nearby 3 subway lines, and the room is really confortable, in a quiet neighborhood.
I'm sure when my wife and I come back to NY, we'll stay there again! Five stars!
I am a painter and art teacher. I lived for several years in Spain, love to travel, and always enjoy meeting new & interesting people from all corners of the world.
