You are guaranteed a peaceful and genuinely rustic stay at Os Figueiros in one of the most picturesque parts of France. Our rooms are furnished in a country-style with wooden floors, antique furniture, cosy beds and full bookshelves. Step out of the apartment on to the rose and vine-strewn balcony and look out over our ancient courtyard where you can feast on local and homegrown produce around our farmhouse table, or take a picnic into the gardens. Afterwards have a swing in a hammock under the fig trees.
Go on a journey back in time and discover our ancient buildings. The beautiful vaulted barn, where you are welcome to practice meditation, dance or just play. Find the Dovecote for a peep out of the window to spot someone at work in the open barn, or take a stroll out into the meadow where wild flowers grow alongside our vegetables.

Interaction with Guests
We are always on hand to help out with information when you need us, and sometimes there are other people passing through, whom guests often enjoy getting to know. But we are also very happy to leave you entirely to your own devices and let you enjoy the apartment and all the area has to offer with no interation from us...it's totally down to you!
A walker’s paradise, you can access Le Grand Rondonee (a network of footpaths all over France) just a 15 minute walk from our door, and we are moments from forests, fields and valleys where you can roam free in nature. We are close to the river, with beautiful swimming spots and its grassy banks for cooling off (if you’re feeling daring take one of our canoes down with you.) You’ll find many attractive villages and towns nearby with traditional markets, restaurants and cafes. The nearest big town to us is Albi; a world heritage site and home to the Toulouse Lautrec museum and the ancient cathedral. We are very happy to help you with planning walks, outings and where to eat out when you visit.
Os Figueiros is located in the Tarn department in the Midi Pyrenees region of south west France about 65 miles north east of Toulouse, 25 miles north of Albi.
Airports: Toulouse and Rodez airports are the most convenient and nearest; with good train connections and car hire available.
Train: From Toulouse or Rodez railway stations, and stations all over France, including Paris, you can take a train to our nearest station, Carmaux, where we will meet you or you can take a taxi to Os Figueiros.
Travelling by road: It is very easy to travel by car in the area...with many attractions within a 20 minute drive. There are 2 major motorways you can take from northern France, A20 or A75. We have free, off road, parking available for our guests.

We enjoyed our stay very much. There was a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The area is lovely and David gave us useful advice about where to go.
What a magic place. Such a beautiful collection of buildings centred around a serene courtyard. We met such interesting people. We loved sitting and chatting . What a shame it was only two days. I would not tire of this place and would love to go back.
This is a very special, magical place. We wish we could have spent more than just 2 days here. David is a warm, thoughtful host who welcomes you as family. He is also a superb cook who orchestrated a brilliant pot luck meal with all the guests. Our children were welcomed and there was plenty for them to do. We all loved our stay. Thank you, David!

I love being in nature, gardening, building and restoring where i live . In the spring and summer i enjoy swimming in the nearby river, working outside, lazing around and relaxing in my courtyard with friends under the stars. I am very easy going and open to new experiences and people and try not to take myself too seriously. I am interested in alternative lifestyles and ways of being, have had lots of adventures and worked as a cranial osteopath for 25 years..
