My apartment is right on the border of the two best neighborhoods in Brooklyn (or possibly all of New York). Fort Greene and Clinton Hill are bustling with gourmet restaurants of all flavors reflecting the multicultural landscape of this area.
Close to public transportation, BAM, Brooklyn Museum, Prospect Park, Fort Greene Park, Pratt, dining, groceries, Dekalb Market, bars and nightlife.
Your private room offers you an incredibly comfortable queen size bed with a down feather bed and comforter and big fluffy pillows, desk, closet, TV with Showtime, HBO, and Cinemax, an Ipod dock station for music, and Wifi. The full bathroom in the photo may or may not be private depending on whether or not the other bedroom is being rented. You can look at my other listing to see the other bedroom. You also have full use of the living room, kitchen, dining room, and large backyard garden. For the summer months you'll have a uniquely large wooden deck with gourmet grill and outdoor seating and lounging. In the winter you can enjoy the wood burning fireplace in the comfortable living area.
I'm very quiet when I am home and have a large space of my own so you may not even know I'm there. I have cats and a small dog, I keep your bedroom closed off to them but if you don't like pets you may not like this place.
I almost forgot to mention that every Saturday the Brooklyn Flea Market happens a block from the apartment. It's a really cool place to find vintage Americana and yummy street food.
It was an excellent stay. I would definitely do it again. 1- nice area 2- Very close to the subway. 3- house and room are very clean. 4- Marci is super welcoming.
Marci is the bee's (website hidden) Plus Ultra.
Marci's flat was incredibly nice, with an incredible nice furniture and in a great location. Lots of nice little touches like a guide to Brooklyn, as well as jars of toothbrushes and aspirin in the bathroom. Would highly recommend.
Staying with Marci was great. She was very helpful with giving us ideas of things to do and how to get around the city. The subway is a quick block away & if very easy to use. Marci's apartment is very comfortable & clean. There is a shared bathroom, living area and kitchen. The bathroom is stocked w/ almost anything you could need incase you forgot to pack something. There is also an information booklet in the bedroom w/ ideas of things to do, etc. The apartment is also very clean. Her dog, Oscar, is adorable...so are the 3 cats. If you don't like pets this may not be the place for you, but other than that you shouldn't have any issues! Transportation to and from the airport was very efficient too. If I head back to NYC anytime soon I'll be sure to stay with Marci again. :D
One word; Great
During our stay Marci provided us with everything we could think of. From a fresh cup of coffee in the morning to a delivery pizza at her place, you name it. She is a great, helpful person to talk with and we had an amazing stay with her. From the moment we walked in, we felt like we were home. She recommended us some great places to eat and visit in Brooklyn and Manhattan. The apartment is situated in a great and safe neighborhood and is very close to the subway.
The apartment itself is really beautiful. It is very spacious and clean. The room we slept in was big enough for the two of us. The bed is really comfortable and there are enough sockets for all your electronic devices. The bathroom has everything you could imagine; razor blades, towels, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, aspirin. Literally everything you can think of.
I would recommend staying with Marci to everyone. If I ever have the chance to visit New York again I would most certainly stay with Marci again!
PS. She has an awesome dog.
This review will be consistent with the others for Marci. She was a great host, doing everything she could to help out and make my stay pleasant and successful, offering to make coffee in the morning and to call a car service when I needed one. The apartment is lovely - it made my daughter who lives nearby envious. You have to enjoy having pets around - which I do - and don't tell Oscar the dog that he is not the host. There are two rooms available, which was fun, as I was there with someone on an extended stay from Sweden and I had a great time watching the World Series with him in the evening and trying to explain baseball to him. You'll not get that experience in a hotel room. I won't hesitate to stay with Marci next time I'm in Brooklyn.
This is a great place to stay if you want to explore Brooklyn and/or Manhattan! Marci is a fabulous host, her apartment is tastefully furnished and she is incredibly considerate with her guests! She really makes you feel at home.
A great place/location in Brooklyn. Marci is also a great host, really kind, courteous and reliable. Clean, quiet, spacious home. Conveniently near subway stops. We loved Marci's place and highly recommend it.
A truly wonderful hostess with a lovely apartment. The place was immaculate and a really comfortable bed. Location was fantastic, really felt safe on my first trip to NY. Marci made me feel most welcome.
I walked down 5th Avenue in Manhattan and remarked that staying at Marci's was infinitely better than staying at any of the hotels that grace the city.
I have absolutely no doubt that Marci's is the place to stay at in NY and there is no doubt that I will return there. It sets the gold standard in airbnb!
Marci was above and beyond an incredible host. We are so grateful for her hospitality. If there were an ideal airbnb experience, we had it, and has probably spoiled any other experience we might encounter. Simply, we felt at home! Marci warmed our hearts, and her pets are just as lovely :)
