Zam's flat was perfect for us. I had a busy weekend in the city and needed a place to stay to limit my commute back and forth from New Haven. The trip was scheduled with short notice (one day) so there was limited time for planning on both sides but still worked out. Zam's flat looks just like the pictures and was perfect for our snowy weekend. The rooftop view is amazing and the distance into the city was perfect. We had to visit a number of neighborhoods (Bklyn, Bklyn Heights, Manhattan, ect ) and found commuting to each was reasonably easy. Great location. Parking was a breeze and the walk to coffee shops (Crema) and little bars (One Stop!) was pretty easy.
The flat is adorable and very spacious. A little drafty and creaky but that is to be expected with crazy low temps in the city and in an old warehouse building. It really adds to the charm actually. You would never guess that such a lovely apartment was inside if you were out on the street.
I wish we could have stayed longer with more time to plan. Next time!
Zam's place was beautiful, and just like in the photographs and what we expected.
The place and location is so good, and i like the view of the rooftop. It's the one of the best place I ever had in the year of 2014.
Loft is exactly as pictured. Zam was a breeze to work with even with our crazy delayed schedule. She was kind and accommodating. A very pleasant stay.
Zam's place was great.. i stayed at her place for the month of October. Lots of room, lots of light.. the space is located in an industrial warehouse in a lovely neighbourhood with a good mix of people from Polish families who have been there their whole lives to the new blood of younger 20/30 somethings. McGolrick park is just a block a way and there's plenty of good restaurants and bars close by. Greenpoint is definitely a little more laid back and suburban than being in say Manhattan or Williamsburg which was nice for me. I had a bike while staying at Zam's which made it really easy to get around. 10min ride into Williamsburg ( alternatively 15 - 20min to walk ) where you can jump on the L train and head into Manhattan or 15 - 20min to ride all the way into the Lower East Side. Overall i had a great stay and Zam was a wonderful host.
had a nice time staying at Zams place, although communication was hard at times and she did not confirm my booking until days after my actual check in dates. It seemed that she was very busy with her work and did not actually have time to really rent out her place. It was not very clean and also after I had arrived half an hour late she had already departed and I had to ask one of the neighbors to let me in.
Otherwise her place was nice, I loved the piano and how spacious the apartment is. The location is a little walk from the train station, but it was nice and quiet which is what I was looking for. Greenpoint is a nice area and very upcoming with lots of nice bars and restaurants!
Correct, your initial request didn't provide enough notice for me to prepare and so I declined. Albeit advising you that it was one of my busiest weeks with work, you said you were still in need of accommodation and asked for a check-in later in the week at 11pm, to which I accommodated you and stayed in communication with you until you sent confirmation that you were in my apartment. I'm sorry I had to leave but, it was very late and I was terribly exhausted.
I'm relieved to hear you enjoyed your stay but, i'm saddened and embarrassed to hear you felt my home was not clean enough to your standards. My building is old and rustic - is that perhaps what you meant? I am extremely house proud and certainly wouldn't want to overlook anything for future guests. Any advice or suggestions you have as to where / what areas in my apartment were unclean would be mot appreciative and extremely helpful to me. Thanks!
Zam's loft is very beautiful and the pictures do an excellent job of showing an accurate depiction of the space. She has very cool style and it has a nice cozy, lived-in vibe. However, Zam was difficult to get ahold of at the time of check-in. I had emailed the day before and left multiple messages before the 3pm check-in time. I even called her at 3 but her phone was off and not receiving messages. I didn't get a response until 4:20 that I must urgently get to the unit as her friend was waiting for me. After speaking to her friend, who was very kind and helpful, I was made aware that she was in Tokyo which explains the difficulty. Better communication would have helped to the ease the stressful situation immensely. Other than that, I had a wonderful experience in her space. The location is great and the roof-top view is particularly breathtaking.
Hi Jules. Yes, sorry for the stress. I travel a fair bit and don't always mention that for security reasons. I see something went wrong though...I texted you on 21st and gave you my friends number and let you know he was expecting you at 4pm. From your review, i'm guessing you didn't receive that? There were a few messages that got lost in cyberspace that week I was away it would seem.
I've just checked my messages and emails and didn't receive anything from you on 21st (day before check-in) only a message to my airbnb and a text once you'd landed. As soon as I received your messages, I panicked and immediately made sure to respond and resend the info you needed. Never the less, i'm glad it was sorted and your stay was comfortable. Thanks again!
