Not many rules, just no sand in the pool or shower, no cigarette butts anywhere and composting is crucial to keep waste clean and minimal.........
Biodegradable soaps and dish liquids are preferred.
There is also a 4 day minimum.
Hope this provides enough info, if you need more please ask.
full use of the house
I interact a fair amount to make sure they get what are expecting and what they will need for there trip.
Very quiet get away.......neighbors are not close at all
You will need a car if you plan of exploring the coastal towns, but walking is just fine locally to the beach etc.....
CONSERVE WATER AND USE BIO SOAP PLEASE :)
My fiance and I had a wonderful time at Casa Fresca! We woke up to the sunrise everyday, spend many hours sitting on the hammock reading, enjoyed the full kitchen and stared at the amazing starts at night. The house is peaceful and relaxing. The design of the house is amazing! The pool is a huge plus!
We would recommend getting a burner phone while you are there- we didn't get one- which was fine, but if we did it again we would get one only because the house is a bit isolated. Jose was very friendly and was very helpful! Thank you for everything, Jose and Jeff!
Casa Fresca is paradise.
My boyfriend and I never wanted to leave. We'd like to go back right now actually. Waking up with the sun rise, swinging in the hammock, taking in that view next to to the pool - all beyond incredible. And the beach is a quick drive away. Or a fairly confusing, beautiful 30 minute hike down the hill.
The house really does only have 3 walls, but it is not a problem. We saw some bugs but received no bug bites. It rained for a few hours one day but the bed is tucked inside the house enough that nothing but the floor got wet. The house is on the top of a hill inside La Vista gate so you will feel very safe.
We fell in love with Tigra the cat. She cuddled every night at our feet. And kept the scary critters away. You will hear howler monkeys but you probably won't see them.
Jose was very kind and helpful. He came every day to tend to the house and pool. He gave us some great suggestions for beaches to visit and he took us on a guided hike to the beach.
It is definitely helpful to rent a jeep. There are dirt roads for about 30-45 minutes leading to the house. We were happy to have one. It is also smart to load up on groceries for the week in Grenada. There is one small shop just inside the gate for some essentials if you run low.
The house is clean. The bed is comfortable. The view is out of this world. I am telling everyone I know they must spend some time in this house. Casa Fresca is a special place.
Just returned from a fantastic stay in Casa Fresca. It has an idyllic setting on a private estate with access (via car) to a Private and Quiet Beach.
My boyfriend and I were visiting to surf and relax and that's exactly what we got. The resort even has a surf shop for rentals and a friendly team to advise on conditions. It also has 2 low-key restaurants, one serving fantastic pizza and the other fresh fish caught each day.
My one advice for people coming to stay is to make sure you have a vehicle sufficient to go on dirt tracks to access.
This really is a completely unique property open to nature and all its beauty!
Thanks to Jeff, Jose & Zach.
We wish we could have stayed longer!
We had a fantastic amazing incredible time at Casa Fresca. We were perched in the trees surrounded by Howler monkeys. Fireflies lit up the ceiling like stars. The view makes you feel on top of the world. The house cat, Tigra, cuddled up to us in bed at night. It was a dream.
* Absolutely drive an SUV with considerable height and 4wd, the roads are bumpy to say the least. Watch out for pot holes! Drive slow.
* Watch the signs carefully, a wrong turn can be treacherous.
* If you are coming from Managua or any other town, go shopping there and stock up! The stores in the vicinity of the house are lacking in quite a few things, and it's a pain getting there. Plan on camping out at the house, it's not really worth it driving around Tola at all.
* Absolutely take the ice chest with you on your hike down to the beach (ask Jose to point out the hike). Your own private beach is INCREDIBLE, however there is no stores or restaurants down there some bring water beer etc with you.
You will LOVE it, it'll just help to be a little prepared.

Loved staying at Casa fresca ! A peaceful, beautifully built private space, but a quick ride down the road to the best surf break in Nicaragua . Access past the iguana gates , super friendly guards. Started the day waking up to gorgeous vista of the valley and out to the ocean all the way to costa rica in a huge very comfortable bed. Post morning surf followed by home cooked breakfast, a swing in the hammock, a dip in the pool and back to la playa. It was the beginning of the rainy season and I have to say for the place being exposed, the bugs were not bad. I love Nicaragua, and I will definitely plan on returning .
