About this listing
2 bedroom / 1 bath fully equipped apartment in the heart of downtown Memphis, walking distance from city attractions, restaurants, shops, and nightlife.
The Exchange Building, completed in 1910 and listed in the National Register of Historic Places, was refitted in 1996 to house 202 attractive efficiencies, one and two bedroom apartments, a penthouse, and handicap accessible units. While the building has undergone a series of renovations, every effort has been made to preserve its historic features, such as the original mosaic tiles, an early-1900s era Tennessee marble staircase, the elaborate plasterwork, and the granite surfaces. The towering marble ceilings of the lobby exude the elegance of downtown living.
The apartments provide a homey feel with a personal touch and high-quality amenities. Several of the units located on the higher floors provide our residents a spectacular view.
Situated at an unbeatable location, our apartments are great for a weekend getaway. Let yourself be inspired by the view and invigorated by the bustling and lively neighborhood. Rest up in our comfortable abodes and make sure to spend enough time exploring the giant playground that is the City of Memphis.

Interaction with Guests
Due to the increased interest in my apartments, I have hired on additional staff to help ensure a pleasant stay for my guests. I travel often, so I have a front desk staff with keys to all of my units so that you can check in at any time of the day with ease. The front desk also has access to the apartment maintenance and housekeeping crews between 9a and 9p daily. When I am in town, I try my best to meet and interact with all of the guests who stay in my apartments. I look forward to the opportunity to meet and host you!
Located in the heart of downtown Memphis, you will be walking distance from most attractions, restaurants, live music, and beautiful parks.
Almost everything worth seeing is within walking distance of our building. The world famous Beale Street is a short 7-8 minute walk away.
Uber is very active in Memphis. This is a great option for shopping and outings further away!
On Main Street, there is a trolley that can take you to all of the wonderful restaurants and shops at South Main (or anywhere along Main that you would like to go!).
There is also a public transit bus stop on our corner and the city's cabs will also provide transportation from here!
Other Things to Note
While this is a pet friendly building, please inform me prior to arriving should you plan to bring a pet. Thank you!
This building houses many other residents. Please be courteous and keep excessive noise to a minimum throughout your stay.
Smoking is not permitted in any of my airbnb apartments. Evidence of smoking, candles, or incense will incur a fee for cleaning.
Great stay at the Exchange Building. Close to everything. We walked two blocks to the Peabody for breakfast. The building has beautiful marble and plasterwork. Comfy beds and pretty quiet as you are 14 floors up. Enjoyable stay!
Great place to stay. Very clean. Perfect location to enjoy Memphis. Would certainly love to stay here again.
This apartment is centrally located in Memphis, with a great view. We never met Sardor, but the all the Exchange building staff members were friendly, responsive, and they made check-in and check-out a breeze. The four of us had a very pleasant stay here.
Very nice 2 bedroom apartment in the heart of Memphis. Very short walk to Beale Street. Beds were comfy, space clean and everything you could need for a short stay. Happily stay there again
Sardor was very responsive and it was easy to book and to check in. The location was great, right in downtown and very close to Beale St and other attractions, and even though we were downtown parking wasn't an issue (Sardor was great about recommending a lot close by, as we had gear in the car we wanted to leave there).
The place itself is interesting; I really appreciate what Sardor is trying to accomplish with the building, but there is also bit more work to be done. The apartment is in a cool old building that seems to have relatively recently been converted from solely private residences into a half hotel, half condo arrangement. The rooms had a great view and were comfortable, but could have been a little cleaner (minor things like paint chips on the window sills, nothing disgusting), and the bathroom sink leaked. All in all, though, we had a very pleasant stay, so as long as you don't expect the Ritz, you should enjoy it too.
Checked in 10 minutes after booking. Extremely convenient. Nice 2 bedroom apartment with full kitchen for less than any hotels downtown. Prime location, walking distance from anything and everything downtown. Would gladly stay again!

About the Host, Sardor
I was born in Uzbekistan and raised in Memphis. I'm the middle child, with 2 older brothers and 2 younger sisters -- and recently a 5 time uncle! I've been fortunate to travel the world in my early years and learned a lot about the different cultures around the world. I enjoy learning about geopolitical history, architecture, and technological advancements that benefit the myriad societies around the globe. To me, Memphis is an exciting city that competes with the great cities of the world as a worthwhile stop for play and leisure. Allow me to host you in my apartments, located in the historic Exchange Building in downtown Memphis.
UPDATE: Due to the increased traffic, I hired additional help to make the check-in process more convenient for my guests. The lobby now has a staffed Front Desk, where you will be able to get any assistance, should you need it (24/7). I hope to see you while you're in Memphis, but I do travel a lot and sometimes I miss out on meeting my guests personally. I hope you have a wonderful stay at The Exchange and please don't hesitate to contact me via Airbnb should you need anything.
