There are public metered spots all around the building. Since there is not always metered parking available, there are covered parking garages within a block or less of the building. Note that the prices for these garages are non-negotiable since the garages are operated by a separate business.
Great safe area to be in. within walking distance to everything, theres a restaurant, Walgreens, and corner store on the same block as this building.
The place is as listed. Nothing spectacular but nothing wrong with it. There are a stack of towels by one of the beds. I walked into the unit and found the heater on full blast which was nice for the winter. The thermostat is easy to use and works well. There's excellent hot water for a long shower. And parking is not an issue as street parking is readily available. I found one right in front of the building. Weekends are free despite the meters.
However, the bed wasn't as comfortable (I have a memory foam at home...I know, I'm spoiled). And Memphis is not a nice neighborhood. I would not park my car on the street again seeing how no one is on the streets near the building. Everyone seems to be down on Beale or Peabody. The worst thing was that you hear this sound of cars going over a metal slab. It echos all the way up the building, through your window, and into your ears. The loudest thing I ever heard for being on the 14th floor. Couldn't sleep well.
Overall, a decent experience. The lady in the lobby was very responsive as was Charlye when I called her. They were great. Thanks for your help.
We had a fabulous time at the exchange building. This was our second time staying there and will definitely stay again if in Memphis.
This apartment was a great resting place for our trip to Memphis. The location was close enough for an easy walk to Beale Street and the downtown sites, without being right in the middle of it. The building itself had a cool art deco feel in the common areas. We arrived on a Friday afternoon and were able to find street parking right outside that we paid for for 3 hours, then we could just stay for free all weekend. The kitchen was small but functional and both bedrooms were a good size with decent storage.
First experience using airbnb. Apartment was perfect! Comfortable beds. Plenty of towels. Great for 2 couples. Walking distance to everything downtown. Will stay again! Thank you for our welcome bag.
The room was exactly as advertised. Our host was very communicative and kept us informed about arrival and check in. We enjoyed being downtown within walking distance of restaurants and entertainment venues. Provided coffee for the morning.
When my friend & I arrived at the building, we had an easy time accessing the keys & getting in. The apartment is in the heart of downtown Memphis, & the views of the city are lovely. Everything was neat & tidy, & we would definitely stay there again if we were passing through Memphis.

I was born in Uzbekistan and raised in Memphis. I'm the middle child, with 2 older brothers and 2 younger sisters -- and recently a 4 time uncle! I've been fortunate to travel the world in my early years and learned a lot about the different cultures around the world. I enjoy learning about geopolitical history, architecture, and technological advancements that benefit the myriad societies around the globe. To me, Memphis is an exciting city that competes with the great cities of the world as a worthwhile stop for play and leisure. Allow me to host you in my apartments, located in the historic Exchange Building in downtown Memphis.
