You can pretty much walk (or bike) anywhere in Philly. I can help if you have any specific questions on how to get somewhere. Rittenhouse Square, Avenue of the Arts, City Hall/Love Park, University of Pennsylvania, 30th Street Station, Bus/Subway/Trolley stops, and great bars/restaurants are all a short walk away. Or take a stroll along the river on the nearby bike/walking path right to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. You have the choice of walking or taking public transport to places like the Convention Center, Historic District, and Liberty Bell. Cabs are frequent in this neighborhood, so you can always get around that way too.
If you are interested in renting bikes just let me know. There are plenty of bike lanes throughout the city.
1 day - $20/day per bike
2 days or more - $15/day per bike
Rates include bike lock.
Hope you visit!
Kristine's apartment nicely captures the charm and character of Philly. Located within walking distance of town and main attractions. A great place to stay for those wanting to feel like a local.
I didn´t meet Kristine but she was really helpful and flexible. It was very clean and comfortable. I slept really well.
Great location, easy to get to from the airport by train. Host was welcoming and gave us everything we needed to explore the city for the first time. Would definitely stay here again.
Kristine's room is great, very cozy and comfy! we had a wonderful stay there!
Everything about Kristine's place was perfect: the location within the city, the nearby restaurants and bars, and the coziness of the setup made for a wonderful time during our stay in Philly. If you need a homebase to explore the city in comfort, look no further than the House with the Yellow Door.
Kristine had an adorable and comfortable house. The neighborhood was in a perfect location, only a 25-30 minute walk to downtown and some great coffee shops and restaurants nearby. The WiFi was fast and the bed was comfortable. I had all that I needed. Kristine was a pleasant and kind host and I enjoyed my stay. Thanks Kristine!
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay in Kristine’s guest room. The room was exactly what we wanted, an excellent place to return to after a day of exploring. Kristine is a pro, she had the room clean and set up for us when we arrived, including the gamut of Philadelphia tourist pamphlets and instructions on how to join the Wifi network framed and available on the desk. Her house is in a lovely residential neighborhood that we really enjoyed walking through, and which had several nice cafes and restaurants along South Street. Kristine also suggested two good local bars to try, Grace Tavern and Sidecar, that were both perfect for watching the Olympics after a long day. We certainly recommend Kristine’s room to anyone considering an Airbnb in Philadelphia.
I had a pleasant stay at the Yellow Door - it's on a quiet street in a good location - close enough to downtown to be convenient, but just far enough to be quiet and let you feel like a local. The house is cozy and the room has interesting artifacts from Kristine's travels, and I got a great night's sleep there. I only stayed the one night and didn't actually get to meet Kristine, but she was very friendly and helpful in all the written communication, and also very accommodating about my last-minute planning.
We stayed 4 nights at Kristine's and we really enjoyed our stay there. It is exactly as it looks in the pictures. The room was clean and warm. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure was great. We enjoyed the access to the kitchen since we cooked a few times there. She has all the necessary pots, pans, dishes etc that you would need. She was also kind enough to share some basic seasonings with us so we wouldn't have to buy a new one just to cook a couple times with. The location is also really convenient. The neighborhood is more residential, which is a nice break after visiting the city, but there are many restaurants and bars close by. Walking to where we wanted to go was extremely easy since Kristine is in a really good location. It's a great place.
The house is great, very cosy, clean and well located. Highly recomended!
