Villa Pastori is situated on the Brenta Riviera, midway between Venice and Padua, where, from the beginning of the 15th century, Venetian nobles built their splendid country residences, collectively known as the Veneto Villas. The Brenta river served as a waterway for travel between Venice and the countryside. Villa Pastori is a beautiful example of an 18th century villa, and is made up of a main building and two flanking buildings with porticoes (the latter are known as “Barchesse” in Italian), which originally were the stables, carriage house, farm stores and cellars of the villa.
The bus stop is at walking distance.
The train station is 3 km away from the Villa.
Bicycles is available for free for our guests.
The Villa has a parking area inside the property.
We spend three nights in this house. First we are very thank Simonetta pick us up from train station and send us to train station at last day. The
house is one part of a Villa which has a long history. It is quit peace. The location of this house is also good enough. There is a bus(BUS 53) stop near the house which just walk 6 min. And take 30min direct to Venezia! The supermarket is also near the house. We have a good holiday here!
What a wonderful time we had in Villa Pastori. After a warm welcome by Simonetta, the housekeeper, we all (-family of 5-) felt quite at home in our Magnolia appartement, where a basic 'survival kit' of spaghetti, dolce's, olive oil and drinks was waiting for us. The rooms are as described, and organizing beds in the 3 bedrooms is flexible. The kitchen and two bathrooms were tidy and practical. The garden is very inviting.
We discovered Venice (25 minute boat trip from Fusina, which is 10 minutes from the villa). Venice Airport is 25 minutes driving.
We also visited some villa's including Villa Pisani, all within less than 30 minutes driving by car, but as well easily reachable by bus, or on one of the available bikes.
We spend two days in Padua, a very inviting and open city, where we had diner at the Piazza dei Signori; one of the best "Italian" experiences we had so far, including the ambiance of a square filled with tables and people and a dark blue sky like it was painted by Giotto.
A good choice of shops and supermarkets in the neighborhood of the appartement made it easy for us to prepare our own breakfast (-on the terrace in front of the apartment-) and picknick.
We came by car and did most of our trips by car, but public transportation possibilities (bus or train) seem very good, especially to Venice or Padua with frequent services.
Our conclusion: we can highly recommend the Magnolia apartment in Villa Pastori.
Thank for your warm words and for the wishes for keeping Villa Pastori "alive".
We are trying to improve always the stay for our guests, though it is an hard task.
Thank you very much for the advices, I hope that some ideas will be realized shortly.
I hope to have you in future in Villa Pastori. Thanks again.
The Villa Pastori is a restored charming gated Home. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with a sitting area , T.V. and a sofa. The bedroom are very nice and spacious. The apartment we stayed in was on the first floor. The front patio is great you can sit and enjoy glass of wine. The markets are right up the street few hundred feet. Alessandro was a wonderful host, and the main house and carriage house with its charming chapel was a nice treat. Visit the regions around the Villa from Padova,Dolo Mira ,Oriago and Venice . The boat ride down the canal to Venice is great. You are within driving distance , about 25 min from the City of Venice and other regions like Murano ,Spiena , Mestre .Highly recommended. Thank you

My name is Alessandro and now I am retired. My family owns from the middle of 1800 Villa Pastori, a typical example of venetian Villa built in the 1780. Now it is rather difficult to maintain the Villa taking into account property taxes, maintenance costs and need of restoration. We then decided to share a part of the Villa (the old warehouses, storage of carriages, the cellar ...) transforming the Barchessa side into three small apartments. From the rentals derive the necessary for the maintenance of the villa, which we could not otherwise bear.
My main interests are cinema (my wife and I did not lose every year the Venice Film Festival in Venice) gardening (especially the vegetable garden), reading (books about detective) and my three cats.
