The trip started by a phone call with Bob indicating that the room was ready with two beds, towels were outside, and a general layout of the house. Once we got there, the place was exactly as described and everything was clean. The neighborhood is very quiet, and the surrounding areas was typical gorgeous countryside.
Overall, we had a great experience, and Bob was a great host. Highly recommended.
Although we didn't have a chance to meet Bob in person, the house worked out well for us. It is a lovely country getaway--perfect if you need a break from urban life. The room we stayed in was comfortable and spacious.
We did not get to meet Bob, but he was super friendly and great with giving us timely information about staying at his house! The house itself is uniquely decorated and those who appreciate eclectic art will definitely find this airbnb a treat! The bedroom we slept in was beautifully decorated and had the most wonderful, warm sunlight and the whole house has a charming and welcoming atmosphere. Bob had coffee ready for us to make for ourselves in the morning and he was very helpful in giving us tips about where to eat/what to see nearby! Would definitely recommend!
Bob's house was cute and full off interesting antiques and knick-knacks as advertised. What wasn't advertised, until the day of our arrival, is that other folks were living there. Would have preferred finding out about that weeks earlier during the inquiry process!
I stayed at the Nantmeal Country House over Thanksgiving weekend in 2014 with my husband and his parents. The house is beautiful and spacious, full of eclectic furniture and art. The kitchen is well-stocked and perfect for a home-chef. It was a perfect gathering space for the family.
We did not meet Bob personally, but he was very responsive via email and text. He was also willing to accommodate our changing schedule and seemed happy to offer flexibility that fit with his hosting schedule.
The pictures accurately represent the feel of the house. Note that the wifi was spotty at best (we never got it to work), so be mindful of that if you you need reliable internet access during your stay. Bob is a responsive host, so you might ask about reliable internet if that is important to you.
Overall we had a great stay and we plan to stay at Nantmeal Country House when we visit family again.
Bob is honest and easygoing. The house is voluminous, yet cozy. The water situation is a bummer but not a deal breaker. If you need more than one bed the booking gets confusing. If you only need one bed, the price is about right. This is our second time and we'll probably be back because of its beautiful location and chill owner.
What made this experience great was the ease with which Bob communicates. He is downright genuine. His house was cozy, comfy, fun & the room was spacious. The area is gorgeous, we were able to take a bike ride that Bob suggested and the views were straight out of a calendar. Check out his studio & shop! We stopped at Sly Fox brewery on the way in. DO IT!
