The Space

Dear guest,

As you might know, Upper East Side neighborhood is one of the safest area of NYC. You can easily walk around at night and never be in danger.

My place is very clean, quiet and cozy with hardwood floors, new appliances and large curtained windows. There are 2 bedrooms with shared bathroom, hallway and a kitchen. The small room is furnished with a large and comfortable couch which folds out into a full-size bed, standing decorated shelves, mirror, and two laptop stands that also can be used as small tables. This room is small, but completely private, with the door that you can lock, and can accommodate up to 2 people, who don't mind shearing the bed. You WILL HAVE your own set of keys.

I am usually home every evening during weekdays. I sleep in the other bedroom which has a queen size bed and two closets. This room may be vacant on some weekends, when I am out of town. In this case my bedroom has 2 more sleeping spaces for an additional $50 charge per person.

The following will be provided:
Free WiFi
Bed sheets and bedding (100% cotton)
Large feather pillows
Shower towels
Fully equipped kitchen with gas stove, oven, microwave, electric tea kettle
Iron

The building is a 5th floor walk-up (no elevator), like most of the buildings in this area, but the neighborhood is just right for everyone wishing to get some rest and yet to stay in the center of New York City. Tons of awesome restaurants and bars are around the corner. Major museums are all just minutes of a walking distance, and it's about 7 minutes walk to get to Central Park. It’s also close to all means of public transportation:
Subway (4, 5 and 6 trains) – 3 blocks distance
Buses (including Crosstown Bus) – 1 block distance
Taxi – everywhere around

Looking forward to hearing from you and hoping your stay here will be the most enjoyable and relaxing ever!

  • Kate was very nice. She made arrangements for me to have the key since I moved in while she was at work. The place is in a nice location in New York with tons of restaurants in walking distance of the place. The room is on the 5th floor in a building with no lift but I knew that before I booked. Kate has been very upfront about these things and I appreciated that. I was checked in for two days but had to leave one day early due to sudden change in plans. On the whole it was a decent experience though I had some issues with slow internet in the room. Kate explained that it was a issue in general and she has tried to call the internet company and tried to address it. Apparently some parts of that area has a problem during peak times in the day.

  • Everything worked out well when my girlfriend and I stayed at Kate's place. The room was true to the advertisement and the location is perfect for anybody who wants to conveniently explore the city.

  • Good experience. The room is as advertised. We had some problems with delivering the keys, but it was a good experience overall.

  • Kate's place was great! Very close to the subway and all the things the Upper East Side has to offer. The room was small, as posted, but really enough room if you just need a place to rest your head at night and keep your things. The apartment was really quiet and peaceful and Kate was very nice and helpful when I arrived. I didn't see her much because of my schedule and hers so if you are looking for a place where you don't need much interaction with the host this would be a nice place. The bathroom was located right across from the bedroom so that was convenient and it was clean and easy to use. I felt safe in the apartment. I would stay here again!

  • Location couldn't be better - few blocks from subway, Metropolitan Museum and Central park, but at the same time quiet. Apartment is small but it has everything necessary and even more.
Kate is a perfect host, thank you for sharing a dinner with me my last day)
PS. I fell in love with the window view=)

  • Kate est une personne très discrete mais disponible si besoin d'aide . Son appart est idéalement situé : près du métro, pas loin de central parc et quartier tranquil

  • Couldn't have asked for a better description of Kate's apt., as all the details were clearly explained. Great location and plenty of restaurants, coffee houses, and of course, your neighborhood bar. Subway just 3 blocks away, and a nice stroll through family friendly atmosphere from morning to late late hours, which I did a few times without any issues or concerns thru well lighted neighborhoods.

Again, apt was exactly as described, which had and met all the amenities I needed. Very very clean, nice and cozy, and thouroughly quiet throughout the day and night.

Kate responded to every question i had thouroughly and everything was organized and concise. Would stay here again as I felt comfortable and at ease with every detail.
