Im a social active gay guy, traveling, food and art are my favorite activities, next to hanging out with friends and having dinner parties (or just regular parties) I love having people over to share bits of our life, we live in the city and love it.

The space

Nice house located in a bohemian neighborhood, 10 - 15 min walking distance from San José downtown and 15 min walk to San pedro (Universidad de Costa Rica)
Love art and design as clean organized spaces.
There are 2 bedrooms, so feel free to write us even if the calendar seems full. Both with double bed. There is an air mattress for 1 more if needed,
Fully equipped Kitchen, laundry room.

What to expect?
A nice clean place, good vibes, warm friends, open minded people. Art all around. Security. Comfort. Supermarket downstair

Located in Between barrio Escalante and Yoses, a very nice neighborhood, surrounded by restaurants, bars, yoga schools and the University of Costa Rica's main place for running and walking.

Taxis 24/7 with service at the door. Cheap buses. Walking distance from San Pedro, San Jose, Guadalupe and train station.

Our place is next to The main street, so it's very easy to get public transportation.

Our flat is peacefull, but we Live in The middle of The city, so keep this in mind. Cigarette smokers allowed only in The balcony.

You're welcome to use our kitchen as if yours and laundry. You have Your bathroom to share with other guests, - if there are more -

Im very social, we treat our guests as friends that we welcome in our city so I can to take you along in our social activities such as going out for a walk, a drink, dinner or also by hanging out at home, sharing wine, beers or any other relaxation elixirs :)

I like independent people, but I am always available for give our reccomendations and support.

We love our neighborhood, is eclectic and vibrant yet full of history, lots of options for food & drinks, restaurants, bars and cafès all very close to our home. Barrio Escalante and Yoses used to be one of San Jose's old residential parts but when the city grew it became surrounded within it and it's mostly wealthy home owners emigrated to the outskirts of the city, now it's gone through some changes that made it a new hot place for city living

Taxis from San Jose downtown-home cost around $4 (2000 colones).
The house is next to the main street, so there is a bus station 50m away from home.

The Atlantic train station is 5 - 10 minutes walking distance with trains to Heredia, Cartago and La Sabana.

Since Im living next to a main street My home can be a bit noisy during the day, but it is peaceful during the Night

Guest access

You are welcome to use our kitchen as if yours, our bright and open living room, our balcony where we relax with all our friends who come by for a coffee or to say hi, you're always welcome to join us

Interaction with guests

We're very social, we treat our guests as friends that we welcome in our city so we try to take you along in our social activities such as going out for a walk, a drink, dinner or also by hanging out at home, sharing wine, beers or any other relaxation elixirs :)

The art district is a block away. Funky trains passing on two sides. The best IPA ever tasted (La Pelona). The atrium right inside his door. Shopping and busses to the downtown mall right there

Juanjo is a fine person and great host. His art house is unique and well decorated. The room is basic, but a decent value. The location is fantastic for travelers seeking a great variety of restaurants and nightlife, not very touristy yet, and an opportunity to experience a youthful, hip Tico urban scene. I will rent again when in San José.

Great space close to Barrio escalate with lots of restaurants and bars. Quick 15-20min walk to city center. Didn't get to meet the host but he was super responsive via messenger and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) and checking in was easy. Would stay again!

Really lovely house in a great location! Unfortunately Juanjo was not there when we stayed, and that mixed with my limited access to internet made it a bit stressful trying to find the location. I don't think it would be a common problem though! He was very willing to communicate.

I found nice shops around there and really enjoyed it! Plus, a supermarket in this building helped me a lot. The room style reminds me of Brooklyn, NY. Juan is very talented and kind person, thank you :)

Hi! Im Juan, an artist / graphic designer based in San Jose, Costa Rica.

I live in Los Yoses, a neighborhood on the east side of San Jose.
My apartment is nice and bright, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, in a great location, 20 min walking distance from downtown. Nice neighborhood with bars and restaurants.

I love living in the city but in a comfortable and safe yet lively part of town, right in the border between San Jose and San Pedro.
