Check In
  • I truly appreciated Susan and her sweet home. She was generous, kind and welcoming, and of course it being Oregon we immediately found random connections, like the funny fact that we'd actually graduated from the same high school. Her house is warm, beautifully appointed and immediately made me and my then boyfriend (now fiancee, it was an auspicious trip) feel at ease. It's very well decorated, and it's a vibrant and intimate living space, the perfect backdrop for the small gathering of friends and family I had visit while we were there. One of the best aspects of her home is its accessibility; we were able to walk to the amphitheater, the Old Mill district, restaurants such as Kebaba across the river and generally anywhere we wanted. I know of no hotel in town that offers you such immediate access to the historic Bend district while maintaing the homey feel that makes Bend a truly enjoyable town. Susan had plenty of good advice on where to go, what to do and where to eat. Some of my best memories from this trip home to Oregon are in Susan's house; whether it was walking back from a concert to see my mom reading a book on the front porch, or sitting in the living room with my best friend, fiancee and mom just enjoying the fire and talking about life. Anyone who has the chance to stay here is incredibly lucky; both to have Susan as a host and to get the chance to stay in a home that I feel is the quintessence of Bend.

  • Home away from home that's all we can say. Beautiful home, amazing location and a most gracious host. Our room and bath were immaculate and the home very warm and cozy. Special treat were Susan's two dogs, Nellie and Betty. Thank you Susan for a perfect stay.

  • Wonderful accommodations within walking distance to downtown and the Old Mill District and just a couple of blocks from the river. Susan was great with her local knowledge, including activities, restaurants, etc. She has a very friendly chocolate lab, so best if you like dogs!

  • Susan's home is a wonderfully peaceful respite in beautiful Bend. We walked to many restaurants and enjoyed the proximity to everything! The gas fireplace felt amazing after a long day snow shoeing. Susan also has a super mellow and sweet Chocolate Lab that I got to cuddle with on our last down in town. One of the best weekends away in every way!

In winter I like to cross country ski, knit, read a good book and drink red wine. In summer I like to work in my yard, hike, cycle and Paddle the lakes and streams around Bend. Travel will always be a part of my life. I especially like the southwestern US. Summers are also filled with trips to the Oregon coast with family and friends.
