About This Listing
Look at my other listing, The Lavender Room, Wrightwood B&B, which will give a description of the area and the home that The Green Room is located in. (To do this, just click on "Diane.") The Lavender Room shows our first listing. Our second listing, The Green Room, is available here.
The Green Room is furnished with my mother's 1929 bedroom set. Please remember, they didn't make queen & king size way back then. It's a double bed. (The mattress and box springs are not part of the original set.) It's an attractive room with plenty of space, a huge walk in closet, and big windows looking out on the pines and flowers. It has it's own private bathroom. Breakfast is included. If you are interested in Mt. High Ski Resort, it's an easy 3 miles away. Downtown Wrightwood is about a mile. It's a pleasant walk on quiet residential streets. The birds, and one squirrel, eat breakfast with us every day. These include red-headed woodpeckers, many Stellar Jays, and lots more. Come join us for breakfast.
The Green Room is large enough to put an air mattress on the floor, so it is possible to accommodate 3 guests. There is an extra charge of $10.00 per night for each guest more than 2.

It should go without being stated, as it's a standard policy in ALL hotels, motels, and B&Bs, that the rooms are for registered guests only. Inviting people (or pets) to share your room later, guests who DO NOT have reservations, is in violation of the rules and you may be asked to leave, along with your extra guests. To entertain guests in the day time, (birthday party, B-B-Q, just to visit) you must first make arrangements with me.
My boyfriend and I went up to Wrightwood to visit a friend who is hiking the PCT. Since it was a last minute decision, I wasn't sure how long we would be there. Diane was very accommodating. We had a late check-in due to the 2 hour drive from San Diego and my late work shift. Diane kept in communication the entire time. When we arrived, she came out the door to welcome us, had us park in her driveway, gave us a tour of her home, showed us our room and overall just made us feel very welcome. I loved that she had preheated our mattress (it was chilly out!). We didn't get to try out Diane's breakfast as we were meeting our buddy for breakfast and a brief day hike. I look forward to staying a little longer the next time we're in the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay, Diane!
It was a warm experience at Diane's home. She was accommodating and very kind. Due to a cancellation the night before, we were able to come early and change our clothes, and leave our things before heading out to the Mt. High, so that was very helpful.
The house is very close to Mt. High, about 2-3 miles. Can't beat that closeness. You could even (maybe) walk or hitch if the traffic was too bad.
The room is well furnished and the bed is comfortable. There is a bed warmer for any level of heating comfort. There is a walk in closet and some hangers if you need to hang any clothes and there are some dressers if you want to put some of your clothes away.
The bathroom had nice soft towels, soap, and hair products, as well as a heater you can control in the ceiling. The shower pressure is good and soothing.
She prepares a great breakfast and some pretty fantastic French toast! Quite hardy and good for heading up for a day worth of activity.
The home has so many antique player pianos and phonographs, it's quite like visiting a museum as it was pretty educational. Her husband, Gerry, even showcased two of the nickelodeons (quite a treat to see them operational) and collects them.
Thanks for the hospitality!
We had a lovely stay at the Green room, with Diane and Jerry.
Very welcoming, warm and interesting people! Diane even offered cookies and wine for my boyfriend Dan's birthday. A lovely get away - sitting by the fire and watching old black and white movies on vhs!
She also makes a great breakfast! So yes 5 stars! *****
My husband and I had a great time. Diane and her husband Jerry were great hosts, very friendly and nice. They made us feel right at home. The room we stayed in was very cozy with more than enough space for our things. The breakfast Diane made was delicious as well. It was Definitely a great experience and we would highly recommend them. They definitely made our 10th year anniversary memorable. The description of the place was accurate and than some. We are so glad we choose to stay with them.
Diane was a great host! When I first contacted her in regards to my stay, she was very accomodating. I informed her that I will be checking in late due to getting off work late. When I arrived she was expecting me around 10p. I didn't even call her to let her know that I arrived yet. When arrived she went outside to direct me where to park and showed me the house with welcoming warmth. I informed her that I am diabetic when we first contact so she get a little info about me. She accommodated breakfast that would be good for me. Which I thought was very sweet. The room that I stayed in was called the GREEN ROOM. Lovely cute little pastel green painted room with antique furniture (NEW GUESTS, PLEASE BE GENTLE!), white embroidered bedding that matches the room and a walk in closet. She also preheated the bed. I've NEVER used a heated bed before. So I thought it was awesome! Diane definitely made my first Air BnB reservation easy and comfortable. I would highly recommend and will reserve with her again in the future. Thank you for your (website hidden).
Diane feeds neighborhood squirrels and birds in the morning. It's a great view to watch from in the dining area. You will enjoy watching these critters munch away in the morning while eating breakfast :D
