This is a tough one to review so I will try to layout the good and the bad.
Anton is good at communicating and got back to us before we checked in. Once we checked in, we could not get in touch with him.
Great location. 10-15 minute walk to Fisherman's Village, stores, restaurants, etc.
Lots of space and a well stocked kitchen.
The place looks great in the pics but when you arrive, you realize how run down it is and that the pics must be from awhile back.
There were bed bugs! :( I got bitten pretty badly and had several patches throughout my body.
There was a lizard in our bed and other very large bugs around the apartment.
The pool area was very cluttered with tons of stuff everywhere. We didn't swim in the pool but it looked fairly clean.
Overall, this place just needs some upkeep and then it would be just fine. It is more like a 3-star place. And, I get it...it is Thailand and isn't super clean - but, you should just know what you are getting into before you arrive. It is not 5-star and just needs some upkeep. If we hadn't had the bed bugs then we would have probably given it a better rating.
This is indeed a very strange review and the only critical one in 3 years of our Airbnb presence.
The bedbug accusation is obviously a nonsense. We are running at 90% occupancy and nobody ever complained about bedbugs.
We’d like to stress that the guest didn’t mention this problem neither in person to our manager at the check out nor in a private review.
So this is the kind of behavior the house owners may expect from these guests.
If the guest was in fact bitten that must have been something else, could be sand flies on a beach which is common.
The bed was duly inspected today and nothing suspicious was found.
Geckos are unavoidable in Thailand even in big cities so it’s too picky to complain about it.
The other negative comments appear to be far from truth: the house was newly painted and the whole property has undergone a scheduled renovation recently with all houses painted, swimming pool re-grouted and flat screen TVs installed in most houses.
The pool area wasn’t and isn’t cluttered either. There may be a few kids toys here and there as we are family friendly and usually there are a couple of families with kids.
The guests in question were also granted a late check out and a transfer to the airport was arranged. Somehow they forgot to mention this in their review which could have been influenced by the imaginary bedbug bite : ).
We regret if our property hasn’t met this guests expectation and are opened to fair criticism which unfortunately this particular review fails to deliver.
We believe that our property offers a great value for money which is confirmed by dozens reviews of our townhouses here on Airbnb.

Very good place. Nice 'townhouse' and good facilities like pool. Closeby Fishermans Village by foot for shopping and diner on the beach. Very friendly and helpfull 'staff'. Ask them to pick you up from pier...it easy :-)

As a traveling couple we both work from home, this house worked perfectly for us. The two air conditioned bedrooms served as offices with 15 MB wifi connection. Another wifi was available for backup. We used our own wifi router to amplify the signal that was coming from the sala. The kitchen was great to cook in, with a gas burner and oven. Fridge was great for two persons, although we think it might be too small for a family. The two bathrooms on the upper floor are nicely done, as the toilet downstairs. Cleaning was provided twice a week. The pool is cleaned and well maintained, as well as the garden. There's a lot effort being put into maintaining the garden, and everything is spot on!
Iain, the property manager, helped getting us settled in, even though we came in at the last minute. He was accommodating in our requests and realistic in all respects. The other guests were minding their own business, and the privacy was good.
The distances specified in the listings are accurate: we were able to rent a scooter for 3,500 THB, and we thought our location was decent. For comparison, we checked a few residences closer to Chaweng area, and although they were a bit more reasonably priced, they didn't come even close to the comfort provided here. If we moved, I don't think we would like it as much we liked it here, mostly due to kitchen and large space.
The only thing that would make us feel more like we were on a holiday, was if washing of the dishes was included. We didn't mind the three dogs on the property either, they were friendly.
