Other Things to Note
Unless otherwise noted, this is a shared apartment with me, the host.
It is a large studio apartment, at 625 sqft/60 sq. mtrs, but with separate rooms created with thick curtains. The positive reviews you see have been rentals based on this setup, sharing the apartment with me. There will be full privacy for guests as your area is sectioned off with thick curtains as room dividers from wall-to-wall, providing full privacy and essentially creating a large separate room, measuring 225 sqft/20 square mtrs (see pictures). You will have your own large bed(s). When I am there I sleep in a separate area, also screened off, separate from the guest area. You will have your own keys and can come and go as you want at any hour. Because I often work long hours you you will have the entire apartment to yourself much of the time, with full use of the kitchen. You will be the only guest(s) staying.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Apartment and building is non-smoking.
I ask that outdoor shoes are left by the front door, just inside the apartment.
Common courtesy is expected, showing respect for the apartment and neighbors.
Conner is a really nice person and a great host, his flat was clean, spacious and close to the subway.
We were 3 and he arranged his flat for us, we had 2 cosy separate "rooms".
He was respectul about our privacy and gave us good advices about the area, he's helpful he even arranged our departure and called a taxi for us. He was really flexible and accomodating, and he really wants you to feel comfortable.
I highly recommand this appartment, the environment is really nice and Connor makes it even better !
Thanks again !
CONNOR WAS SIMPLY AWESOME!
Here's the whole story:
I was traveling from Atlanta to Brooklyn, I made a promise to myself to visit New York before the summer ended, so I did. The only drawback was I waited too long to book my AirBnB. Connor's place was the FIRST location I wanted to book, September 24th, by the time I got ready to book, the second day I needed, September 26th, was blocked out. It was my own fault. Nevertheless, I reached out to Connor and we worked out a deal so that I'd at least have a place to stay upon arriving to New York.
Connor's place was PERFECT! Located LITERALLY minutes from the train station, the neighborhood has a fresh market around one corner, a health food store with fresh juices and smoothies around the other corner, a SUPER DELICIOUS Indian restaurant just a few blocks away...I was VERY pleased! And Connor was SO accommodating! For this to be a last minute booking, he was very open and pleasant. He put out another bed for my friend who was traveling with me, he gave us a complete run down of the area, menus to local restaurant, AND he's VEGAN! Since I'm vegan that's a BIG DEAL! :-D It was truly a delightful visit.
I must mention, I traveled from Atlanta to NY via Greyhound, after 19 hours of travel, I seriously "smelled like the day" *lol* my body was in need of some SERIOUS yoga which I wanted to do prior to showering so I could be fresh and stretched. Upon starting my yoga practice, Connor placed tea on his kitchen counter in the event my friend and I wanted tea after our practice. How thoughtful is that!? ^_^
The second day we were there, Connor allowed us to leave our bags in his apartment while we trooped around the city to eat and find another place to stay. Oh, and I can't forget to mention, we wanted to wash our travel clothes and Connor let us use his laundry detergent, dryer sheets, AND laundry card. Connor was the ABSOLUTE best!
Whenever I visit Brooklyn again, I look forward to booking with Connor. 3
Connor was a great host, he gave us a lot of good advices. He was very respectful of his guests' privacy. And the apartment was great and very clean. Thanks !
Conner is a great host! He not only opened his home to me, but provided me with emails listing things to do and places to eat, as well as showed me around the area a little and told me about some good places according to what I liked. His home is cozy, and the area is not swanky, but I felt safe. Though there was no A/C, the fans he provided made it comfortable, even though the hallways and elevator were quite muggy. If you are not particularly snooty about your habitation, this is a fantastic place to stay. The food, stores, and scenery within walking distance are great and the subway ride to the city is convenient and not too long. The laundry facilities in the basement were a plus, and Conner provided plenty of towels. I was pleased to not have cable, and when I wanted to watch something on the TV, the hookups he left were easy to utilize for my laptop. I would stay again. His response time and hospitality was A++.
