4 - the Santa Cruz Suite
In 1962, the Airstream Overlander series was produced in Ohio offering two sleeping configurations – either two twin beds, or a double bed that faced additional cabinetry – both models had a rear bathroom.
This Airstream has been completely renovated with all-new materials and reconfigured as a mid-bath design, with two beds that sleeps four adults. The convertible sofa sleeper in front opens to a full bed and a full bed in back, with a wall-mounted TV. The bathroom is smartly tiled with recycled glass, with a full-height toilet, stainless sink, and stand up shower with sprayer wand.
These Airstreams are produced with an eye on reducing their impact on the earth, starting with local materials when possible. The coach has been sustainably-constructed with no-VOC finishes and renewable bamboo strand flooring.
The all-electric kitchen features a double stainless steel sink, water filter, soap dispenser, convection microwave oven, air conditioner, heater, and plenty of hot water capacity. This vintage Airstream offers a unique experience along with complete comfort and satisfaction.

Everything very neat and clean. Whilst the bedding & towels were of a high quality everything else was certainly NOT luxury. All utensils and crockery, cooking pots were absolutely kept to the minimum, no jug, no serving dishes and only 2 coat hangers - extremely disappointing. It was fun to be in an airstream but if you book it don't book No.4 - we were able to look inside the two each side of us and they were much bigger and better equipped. As with other reviews the close proximity to the road was disappointing.
Had a great time! The Airstream was nicely renovated and comfy. We took the bikes out for a spin and enjoyed sitting outside on the chairs. The amenities were also very thoughtful - coffee was great!
The trailer is very nice - however we did encounter some troubles during the stay. For instants the grill wasn't working and there weren't any lights on the bikes. The host was informed and was very professional about the complaints.
We absolutely loved our Airstream stay, the moment we walked in it took our breath away. It really was a tiny hotel suite, with everything we needed and even more. We had lovely rides on complimentary bikes, attended yoga classes right across the street and even cooked our own meals using the BBQ station. I would suggest everyone give it a try. Check -in process was easy, wifi worked perfectly. I would rate our stay eleven out of ten if I could. If you are a tourist in States, just like us, I truly believe there is nothing more authentic than staying in one of those cool Airstreams.
We had a great time in our well-maintained and well-stocked Airstream! I recommend going across the street to the Mexican bakery for morning treats and you *have* to go on a bike ride with your cruisers.
We loved our airstream. Clean, beautiful, classic. We used the bikes everyday...thank you! I really liked the keyless entry system. Easy to use, no keys to share or lose. Our friends stayed in the airstreams next door so we had our own little community. Great weekend vacation for us!

About the Host, Autocamp, LLC
A unique, nightly Airstream lodging experience in the heart of Santa Barbara, California.
The Santa Barbara Auto Camp started as an idea. An architect and a businessman came together by their mutual interest in functional, beautiful design and their shared love of vintage Airstreams. And so it was born, the Santa Barbara Auto Camp – a place where old meets new.
Well, reborn actually; the Santa Barbara Auto Camp has been operating continuously in the heart of Santa Barbara since 1922. To celebrate more than 90 years of operation at the Auto Camp, we brought on a set of beautifully-restored vintage Airstreams for nightly rental.
We are Santa Barbara locals. We love the great outdoors. And above all, we love the nostalgia and timelessness of Airstreams.
