Fun and adventurous to stay in such a retro AirStream! Bed was comfortable with usual amenities available. Comfortable for two people but larger parties may decide on a larger AirStream. Tub is very cool but amenable mostly to baths - showering is tricky! Location is next to the street but bamboo plants made the area more private. Bike cruisers were also available. Convenient location only minutes from State Street - also within walking distance of grocery store and gas station! Host very responsive and accessing the AirStream as well as its wifi was very convenient.
Loved staying in the airstream #1! It was a perfect "glamping" experience for my little group of girlfriends. It was easy to find and let ourselves in with the key code and everything was just as pictured. unfortunately It was raining all weekend so we didn't get to use the bikes or explore the area too much, but the Daily Bread bakery across the street was delicious! Queen bed was super comfortable!
We had a wonderful time in the Airstream... a piece of our American Dream. The self check in was very easy. We stayed in the Airstream #1, and once you are inside it is hard to believe that you are not in a appartment, everything is beautiful, the bed room, the kitchen and the bath room. even the second bed (the couch) was very comfy.
We enjoyed the bikes very much...going down hill :-) But hey no worries Santa Barbara is not as steep as San Fransisco.
These Airstream catch a lot of interest, so we had to answer some questions of enthousiasts passing by. The only problem we had, since the #1 is located behind a wall that separates you from the sidewalk, is the privacy, a bit noisy... We had the chance to meet Neil one of the owners of SB Autocamp who stayed there for one night to check himself if everything was all right with the Airstreams. He was very nice and promised us that they would fix the privacy issue by planting higher an bigger bamboos to hide the guest from the street. Wich should indeed fix the issue. I highly recommend The SB Autocamp.
We LOVED this Airstream trailer. Nice and clean. Great location off the beaten path. We took the bicycles to the beach and had a great ride. We would come back in a heart beat!!
We enjoyed our stay at the Luxury AirStream. Its a fun place to stay and a good neighborhood to hang out in San Diego thats near everything.
We loved our stay in the Airstream. I've always wanted to stay in one and this certainly didn't disappoint. It's definitely fancy 'camping/glamping'. The free standing bath is amazing. It was exceptionally clean, thoughtly designed and equipped with everything you need. Nice touches included a iPod dock, lovely toiletries, robes and a very, very comfy bed. We slept incredibly well despite being close to the road. The free bikes were great too, we made good use of them and cycled down to the sea which was really fun. There was even a filtered water tap. I didn't want to leave.

A unique, nightly Airstream lodging experience in the heart of Santa Barbara, California.
The Santa Barbara Auto Camp started as an idea. An architect and a businessman came together by their mutual interest in functional, beautiful design and their shared love of vintage Airstreams. And so it was born, the Santa Barbara Auto Camp – a place where old meets new.
Well, reborn actually; the Santa Barbara Auto Camp has been operating continuously in the heart of Santa Barbara since 1922. To celebrate more than 90 years of operation at the Auto Camp, we brought on a set of beautifully-restored vintage Airstreams for nightly rental.
We are Santa Barbara locals. We love the great outdoors. And above all, we love the nostalgia and timelessness of Airstreams.
